I'm wondering what you ppl out there think is better - a long line up (6 and more dj's/artists, each plays for 2 hours) in a one night party, or maybe you think like I do, and rather have a shorter line up (say no more than 4 dj's/artists, each plays for 3 hours or more) in each party...
well, lets find out...hehe

Short line ups are better IMO, they cost less to the party organizers and its easier for the DJs to built their sets on a longer time.
People tend to go to long line-ups parties because they think "More DJs = more good music"...
Its the vibe that matters. |

Well it mostly depends on who's playing and when , i mean , some dj's can build up slowly a set , and some will use the "Good old bomb-that-raver" attitude . so it depends on my mood too .

Yeap… I also don't understand why organizers make such never ending line-ups.
I know it is done to attract the crowd - more names, the better.
But still, it confuses ppl. You hardly had tie to adjust to one dj style, and hope here comes anotehr dj on the stand.
Btw, the only organizers who don't do that and stick to 3 djs a party are DOOF!

if the dj's have long sets and i like their music thats great. However if i have to hear a dj who plays music that i dont like for 3 hours this gets really boring and pisses me off. As this seems to happen alot where i am (call me a cynic)...i like shorter sets. |

gimme a 3-DJ Line up any time. I hate it when you get somthing like 5-6 DJ's, all with Itching CDJ (Or Technics) trigger fingers. let it be flowing, and not every 2 hour another DJ goes up. i wanna dance constantly.

well i once was on a small private party in switzerland where 5 djs were booked. but the thing was that they didnt mix in sets, they mixed all together. like "hey dude can i play a track from my case now?".
this was the best i've ever seen...the sets never ended the whole night, they played alltogether.
hope u get it right, i think this is a good idea, it'll also work on bigger parties...the only prob here is that u cant do it with a proggressive, minimal and fullon dj...u have to get dj's that play same or similar style.

its cool if they all friends and no ego games and differents styles included. u cant bring 5 djs and say them make a session alltogether. i think.

Less DJs, longer stories is what I like. 2-3 good DJs who can tell a story and build a party is what I want. I rarelly get it though...

If they are good 2 or 3 are enough, if not better to change them quickly. |
