Anyone from the kansai area driving up and wouldnt mind a couple of friendly passangers? Alternatively, anyone want to split the cost to rent a car for the drive up? I'd do it but I don't have an international license. We'd pay our own way and then some. I promise we're quite interesting conversationalists, and interesting in other ways too ;-)

D_M_T!! well I'm not in Kansai, but in Takamatsu in Kagawa prefecture. So I have to go past Kansai. Really want to go. Might be able to borrow a car!! Got an international liscence too. The car is an open, pick up van. I am not sure if people allowed to travel in the back in Japan. But I'm willing to risk it! Keep in touch! Otherwise willing to rent. you have any idea how much it would cost?           "The Sleep of Reason Creates Monsters"

Hey, yeah i think renting a car costs between
5000Y and 10000Y a day, depending on how big it is. If we can hide well enough, i would risk it for a while. But, with an extra day or two and access to a dump i could maybe fix a couple of seatbelts to look (at least) realistic. My girlfriend is not too big though, so if theres any space in the cabin, she can sit on my lap ;-)           --DMT
