devoted to judism, devoted to trance culture, can they co-exist???

in the last two years i have thrown myself into, and have grown within myself through this wonderful world of trance. some of you have witnessed this first hand. ironicaly i seem to have found religeon (organized religeon in trance world?!?!?) i think only because of my involvment with you. those of you who know me i hope do not think of me as a fool, i am not confused in the least i am merely retaining the thoughts of my "other" family. please feel freeeeeeee of course as usual to speak your mind.

is this the end or begining for KC?           --><--IT IS EXTREMLY ADDICTIVE CONTENT, THE START OF A NEW BEGINING---><---

hey son of psy!
my name's dave and you can find me at most dark trance parties wearing a bloody labcoat and a yarmulke. i am an orthodox jew / baal teshuvah and have been so for over six years, longer then i've been in the trance scene. this past weekend i missed my absolute favorite party, goa gil in a redwood forest, because of the chagim of Sukkot. it was really frustrating but i lived through it!
i always drive to parties after Shabbat and i bring my Tefillin with me to the party.
i would love to meet you, what region are you in? i go to most parties in california...

yes, you should check out our wonderful outdoor events in California. or maybe make the trek out to the AUM Festival next summer. i've never tried, but i'm willing to bet you could gather a minyan at a trance party... i usually just daven alone, and yes publicly. well sometimes i try and hike out as far from the sound as possible to see if i can find a spot where i can literally not hear the sound system (very difficult at some of our mojave parties), but when im feeling less energetic i just daven by my camp spot... i figure it can't be any weirder for someone to see then a big backdrop of ganesh or an altar filled w/ hindu and buddhist symbols. i generally consider the trance party to be a very comfortable place to express myself spiritually, not to mention that Israeli's are always surprised when they see a Jew w/ a kipa at a party! (most parties in Israel are on Shabbat).

any ways i will be in NYC oct 31 thru that weekend so if there's a trance event then maybe we could meet. otherwise yes i do go to burning man every year (and hopefully there will be a big psy trance camp this year).

have you guys ever heard of this group of religious jews in israel that ride around in a van with a huge speaker system, stop in the middle of new jerusalem, or anywhere for that matter, and blast trance in the streets??? it's really cool, i was lucky enough to witness this once, they get people to just lose it in the roads, and they even drove up to the lebanese border this summer (during the war)!! they are pretty cool, i don't know if they have a specific name or something, but they are known by many israelis... they found a really neat connection between judaism, spirituality and trance!! na-nah-nahma-nahman meoman

yeah that's been confusing me because according to Isaiah "There will be no peace for the wicked" and yet it seems Kin Dza Dza and Psykovsky have indeed found PEACE FOR THE WICKED!!!! mwahhahahaha neuro trauma trance in yo face.

so what you're saying is:

(Kindzadza + Psykovsky) > Isaiah

Well I can see how that would work... but they'd need to be added together. Only Gil is greater than Isaiah by himself... well at least on the platform of whether the "wicked deserve peace" or not. I'm sure Isaiah is better at eating top ramen, or playing Cat's Cradle or some other cool talent like that.

there are A LOT of orthodox Jews that love psy-trance here in Israel....not so many ultra orthodox though(dancing near/with a women that is not your wife wouldnt go down well with them).

i myself grew up Orthodox and kept a Kipa on my head untill the age of 16 when it kinda lost its significants to me...

Chag Sameach.

Cheers.

Please stop this religious talk on Isratrance. It's against guidelines as you know.
There was a topic about Jesus a few months ago that turned in to something affencive and disrespectful for many people including me as a Christian!
Moderators, please lock this non sense topic before it's gone too far.

Thanks.
Natia.           I don't know, but I've been told, if you keep on dancing you won't grow old.
