There are plenty of (g)old tracks that we rarely have the chance to listen on the dancefloor nowadays..someone would say that these trax should be left untouched but i think that is a good thing to remember oldies and to ask for some remixes :>

why not just play the old tracks as they are? or remaster them as they are? Like Gus Till has done with the old Rhino traxx...

why ruin things like Astral did with their shitty remix album?I can just see a Dali remix of LSD with her singing cheap slut vocals over the top...

if this idea becamse real I'd seriously consider the scene as the most fucked up in the music industry...

I think that everything is happening in order to have fun at the end..and i think that remixing old trax that are completely lost nowadays would offer nothing but fun..(definately with the utmost respect to the original) so why the negative spirit m8?

Have you heard the Midi Miliz remix of this tune? What a killer.

I think old school tunes can be remixed well, but all too often all you get is a full-on bass line beneath some samples of the original. Sometimes this -almost- seems like enough (Species has remixed Pretty Poison and X-File to adequate standards I suppose). Azax Syndrom covered Quirk's Cognitive Dissidents on his recent album. There is that new Etnica remixes album out... but for the most part, none of them quite measure up.

I can think of a very good exception to the rule, however: Wizzy Noise covering Blue Planet Corporation's Alidade. The original is a classic and the remix brings it up to date while retaining all the spirit. Pure class.

Now, if I were to direct Psykovsky to remix anything at all, it would have to be one of TIP's darker pieces--Mindboggler Part 2 or the Acid Rockers version of Hyperactive.

Anyhow, I probably shouldn't get started with this exercise--I could dream up a lot...

I think that making the files of 2003 or older (including much older) tracks available would be awesome.

Let the labels sort out what is worth to be released, and let the people sort out what is worth to be bought.

Most of the old labels are dead, and rights have generally reverted to the artists. If they still have access to the old files then it might be a possibility.

Elad! Why not talk with Eki (since you're label-mates and all) about taking on Tales From The Trip? I'd love to hear a fresh version of it and I'm sure you could do a wicked job.
