NYE festival Near CPT

I there, I am planning to go to the MACANETTA ISLAND NEW YEARS FESTIVAL
from 30 OF DECEMBER 2004 to 3 JANUARY 2005.
Is it far from Cape Town?
I am from England and I will be spending 3 weeks travelling about. In my quest of adventure I will be stopping 4 days in Cape Town at the Riverlodge Backpackers (any comment on this Hostel, will be welcome)
Also if there are people going to the festival could they contact me as I will be travelling on my own, Not that I am scared or boring to be with or any thing like that but a bit of company at the festival would be cool. Even thought that I am convinced that in my search I will be meeting some pretty nice people. Also it would be great if I could have some tips for parties or festival going in the Western Cape

Dude,it's MILES from Cape Town!!!!It's off the coast of Mocambique!!!If you're looking for parties near Cape Town,the Prism festival is a good bet.Check out

yeap, I did check it out and it's on the other side of SA (Mozambique border) well I will definitely give it a miss and will go for Prism festival.Thang for lightening my brain...

yeah...prism is a four day new year's festival being held at rainbow's end....an hour's drive out of cape town from 31 dec-3 jan.
