im in nyc now !!
im in brooklyn right now at my uncle house.
i need u nyc ppl, hardcore ppl to share with me some nice places.
places to go to like unique bars ,good partys , unique clothes shops , unique cd's shops and anything u can think of!
places WITHOUT HIP HOP BULLSHIT MUSIC!!
its every where !!
well , thank u underground ppl ...
try share with me those underground spaciel places that makes this city so good

im not talking only trance , also jazz music , soft rock , and others...

whats good shicht
new york has a huge hip hop scene, its hard to avoid. you'll get used to it.
around west 4th and mcdogal street, basically all of the west village is fairly unique. its a bit more of an expressive, open minded area of new york. not as bogged down by masses of pop culture drons.
there is a phat hookah bar around 14th street.
14th street and union square has a nice park to chill out at. that shit gets packed at night.
also st. marks street is a nice strip of venders and stores that sell weird, unique thingys.
in fact, there used to be a psytrance cd store there, but it closed down.
its a small world brother, we will probably run into each other. most definitely at a party

I am also moving to NYC in May, from Toronto. Would love to get tapped into the scene - mostly into progressive minimal - like Sensient, Tetrameth, Sun Control Species, Spirallianz - so would love to find out those types of parties/DJs/record stores. And any additional interesting places you could suggest.
There is some great psy talent in Toronto/Montreal - hopefully we can link the North-South scenes up a bit more.
Can't wait to check out 212.

Welcome to NYC. There are still many places that aren't swarming with hipsters, B&G's and NYU students.
Check out the psychground and Activate parties- trance weeklies. 28th day host some great proggy parties.
Best bet is to start PMing some people for thier mail address and get onto some mailing list for the parties that you won't find posted for the public.
For other stuff 2 du- DUMBO has a great share of events, usually non-trance(BB,DnB,Jazz,house,*sometimes hiphop*,burlesque...) but always trancer friendly.
Complacent has some amazing parties, shindigs and even parades!
Hang around the east village, Union Square is strangely "the" meeting point for almost everyone in the city.
Check out Freekfactory events
Start looking at SummerStage in Central Park, they hold some cool events, free and you'd be suprized at who they bring sometimes.
This Saturday in Tompkins Square Park is Mayday, again no trance(Techno, House, DnB) but trancers usually show up and it's lots of fun
