i don't understand why people call this music "progressive." shouldn't it, uh...progress? i think a more suitable name would be "stagnant trance" or "house trance"

Today's "progressive" doesn't progress and today's "trance" doesn't put you in a trance.

Today's "drum and bass" is almost entirely melody-focused with the same drum beat in every track

Today's "dubstep" has nothing dubby about it at all.

Today's "raves" are commercial experiences, not about love and unity

Words shift in meaning over time and very soon are not related to their original meaning.

And here's some progressive trance that actually progresses:
