It's good that there aren't avatars here.
But it would be nice to have the ohm flag in another color versions.

make the flags to move like they are blown by the wind!

and also stick the nationality tag in every user so we cant hide behind other flag countrys! but dont change the option to use other flags!

*The slow connection speed... are you serious? Should we ban the Internet to keep the libraries open???

Think about the poor people in Kazakhstan with 28.8K connection

Dude!!! listen to yourself!!!
and what about those poor african kids that have no DVD's??? this is helarious...

Besides, there are plenty of progs for the slowspeed connections, in which you can set up to show,or not the graphics...
so basicly this is the duumest excuse...

there are a lot of users from places where fast internet connection is still a dream... is it that hard to understand? okay to vouch for that, in my hometown in India, DSL was introduced for domestic use only 6 months back and is pretty expensive... and dial up is horribly slow... so slow internet IS a good excuse for not having avatars in forums which is intended to be used across the world...

and the design of this forum as it is, is pretty awesome... no bright colors, nothing fancy... hats off to the isratrance team for all the good work...

Well as a dial up user, you should be familiar with programs that cut the graphics\adds\banners and so on from websites to ease on the connection and cut the traffic used while surfing, therefore avatars shouldn’t be a problem... besides we're not talking about 800*600 sized pics but something small with a 10-15kb limit...           {0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-{0_o}-

10-15kb multiplied by 15(max) in each page...

and yes, i am aware of those programs... well, if you use such programs all graphics will be blocked... i dont think dialup users want to block all the graphics... i would take a shell account(which is far cheaper and gives only text) rather than taking a full acount and filtering off all the graphic contents... the point is this website is quite fast as it is for dial up users, so why change it and make it slower?

well, i do understand that it is pretty difficult for people who have never experienced extremely slow internet to understand this... but these are the facts... if you happen to go to india, you will understand what i am talking about...

by the way, i am not against avatars... i just want this nice forum to be fair to everyone across the world... and i have been on both sides of this issue... so, i am talking about this from my own experience... hope you understand...           We meditate upon the Spiritual Effulgence of That Adorable Supreme Divine Reality, the Source of the Physical, the Astral, and the Heavenly Spheres of Existence.
