i have to agree with this!
a lot of good ppl got in the psy trance scene throw the nizhonot music but that was back in 97 and 98 when it was 2 diffrent janers i dont understand why i have to here this s**t evry party from 7 oclock in the morning and on and sometimes even at night times!!
so nomolos i say we got a winner?

i think you guys refer to the music known in greece as "uplifting melodic trance"... this kind of music was a hit here (like many other countries), and it's true that lots of people got into psy through this music.
sure u can find influences of it in many israeli "fullon" artists nowadays, but it's only in israeli artists (maybe cos it all started in israel in the first place?).
personally i don't like this kind of music, it's not psychedelic at all, and it might have made me move my ass for the first time when i was 15, but surely it doesn't work for me now. if i listened to anything like it in a festival i would deffinetely leave..... (are you sure you get this kind of music in psy parties..???)

I for sure did not discover trance via the cheesy Isralie/Greek trance 
But then again I discovered trance way before 1998.

I did discover trance early 98 but not through nitz.
as to people who came from it i think the best example would be the late Avichen "Cosma" Livne, his early project as Diablo (together with Benny) was classic nitz. he then progressed to more inteliugent stuff.
Christian - nitz didn't have an international name, it was mostly an israeli-greek thing. very simplistic, quite m,elodic very powerfull "up up up" elements.
Tiesto did quite similar stuff with more housey sounds at one point.
the closest thing to that tosay would be uplifting trance ala armin van buren and the other dutch boys. but even they have progressed somewhat.
and Eyal Barkan is still around mostly in conection with Tiesto.

luckily most artists playin nitz here in greece are getting more and more into psy-trance and i think i am pretty sure that today there are more people listening to psy than nitz (which was reverse a few years ago...)
more and more people start to realize that good psy-trance is a lot more powerful and mature music than nitz. and let's not forget that a good psy track can be "uplifting" without being cheesy nitz...

all of that genre which i don't know how to name it. but the artists are Azax Syndrome, Seroxat, Psycho Micro etc'...
they all sound me the same, same fx same bassline and a few different vocals in the tracks. are they our current nizhonot scene?

all this topics about night music and dark and alien musica have been discussed here.
i suggest a search for this keywords.
the artists in this scene are mentioned,as well for millions of other subjects, since XP Voodoo named the genre while he got drunk,to others who think of graveyards and shit.
