Your volume levels need adjustments for sure... u have most of the sounds covered up by your bass...

So what should I do? Eq the bass and remove all the levels that are at the same Hz as other sounds? Than there won't be much bass left I'm afraid. Or just lower the volume of the bass? It sucks not having monitors...
thanks for the comments!

hy there mate .. nice samples from the movie .. i saw the movie yesterday .. i allready riffed the dvd to .. eheh and i can say .. that u can grabe some nice killer FXX .. and voices nice nice .. the trakc .. need to be more balanced .. the bass .. try to put im not so singular .. what i mean .. is .. try .. using a reduced volume in the bass .. and pull up a little more medium freq , and cut the high freq .. and give a little punch near .. 180 200 hz . and a bright Eq in overall sound and percursion

keep going

and sound monitors .. are always good .. but if u have a good hear .. and nice creation and attention in what u doing .. u can make them much more EQ .. i dunno have sound monitors to .. only make music in hify speakers .. old ones .. just keep always working .. don't stop time give profissionalism and kuality .

chears

Fixing the levels and eq is called mixing, not mastering.

sure, but on my speakers the bass sounds ok... Maybe some sounds could be better mixed but still: it always sounds different when I hear it on another system. So I don't want to blame everyting on the lack of mastering, I know that a lot of things I can 'fix' myself... but it still needs mastering.

No, you need monitors. Then you'll able to hear the sound like it should be, and mix it correctly.
You should try to make the track so it wouldn't need any mastering. This way, it will sound the best.

Hm... I believe with the right speakers and the right volumes, the track should sound much better...

It seems that u have a prob with the volumes, meaning that u do not have good speakers or right headphones...

In order to see the difference of your track, not meaning that they sound the same but just to see the difference, listen to an already released track...
Or just listen to tracks posted here from different users, eg darclons track, mikes tracks, organicparadox tracks and see the different volumes...

Finally I believe that if u find a way to fix your volumes, u r gonna see much difference...

man buy monitors.
without it you cant make it.
you dont have kick and bass.
the balance between mid low and high is totally wrong.
the track seems to be nice but it's unable to hear like that.
good luck

Could someone with monitors (like everybody but me ) give their opinion on the changes in eq (since I bought the akg k 240 studio headphone and discovered there was indeed no bass).

So, better now?

thanks!

There is still very lil low end. It needs some crunchiness. I have the little tiny Studiophile and they defenitelly help on the sound balance. Also if you trim the length of those CHH it would help

Nice guitar sound... nice indeed. After the first bar of the guitar like solo you should add some OHH and take the snare out... it will make it fly. Maybe some long atmospheric acid tweak flying with the guitar.

Keep it up... even without monitor
