OK I have a question..I wonder what u as a person who come to hear a dj set rather hear....a set that will be based only on new stuff(unrlsd) or a set which will include tracks - older and released stuff and new released stuff.

what do u think is the importance of "unrlsd" stuff in dj set??

Not important at all in my opinion. It's all about the flow and the setting/order...))           >>>HoLy NuDiTy<<<

in my opinion, is not really important if the music is released or not, the main important thing is the final result, i can listen a dj set full of unr. tracks, and sometimes enjoy a lot and in other times is boring. the reason is not only for the music, is for the development of the set, the mix, the sound and other things.
maybe the question in the future can be ¿who is a good dj and who not ?
now all the ppl know the sickness about the unreleased music. In this forum you can view another posts with the same discussion, and really for me if i need judge a dj set, i think more in global, and check all the evolution and intentions of the guy.
cheers

I like a mix between both. I'm always excited to hear a new good track, while I'm equaly excited to hear a track I know and love.

I like to hear mostly fresh tracks - released in the last couple of months. Older tracks (more than a year or two) don't seem to flow so well, I find. Occassionally a classic can be dropped if the time is right, but usually it's nice to have the freshest tunes possible. Unreleased tunes? Sure, maybe. If they're good and if they're used well. Sometimes I can hear someone's so excited to have some unreleased track that they play it at completely the wrong time and end up looking like idiots.

Heres a nice discussion...
I mean, ppl don't enjoy older tracks because? How can I enjoy some new track that I haven't heard and never connected to? Just dancing beats that's nice...

I think spinning unreleased or whatever is just useless. Ppl are totally not connected to the music this way. Obviously if the dj wants to promote his music or someone elses, and he´s 'testing' the crowd or whatever then what the hell....
bottom line, old music is the one that stays in the mind and feeling.

And the fact, that old tracks like year or 2 years ago don't flow, is not because they are old but maybe because they are shallow.

the older traks cannot have the power of a fresh tune...but they can have a lot more than just being fresh....they can b good traks and i think a good dj doesn´t care if it´s fresh or old...if it makes people dance....           ...

a3k: I don't understand... please tell me why older tracks cannot have the power of a fresh tune?

I was allways thinking that fresh tunes cannot have the power that of an old tune... maybe im feeling backwards or something?

EP: Just my expression about the latest 2 years of neverending stream of shallow music imho. And I am reffering to the dance floor high bpm one... connected to the 2k years for me.

For me its not this way. I think even if you are hearing a track for the first time, you can get connected. If I'm hearing a really nice track in nature for the first time, with the sunset behind me, thats just something different. It can connect you in a stronger way. I dont think you have to listen to a track a few tiems to connect to it.

To return to the question, I also prefer a mix of older stuff and the new stuff. Both brings different joys to a person.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

"ze lo hagil ze ha'targil"
which rhyms and means..."its not the age...its the trick"...
and if this was a bad translation what im trying to say is...IMO the age has no importance...its how u use the track and how it fits in your build up....
even if the sound is not as thick....some old tracks have powers that make them way "fuller" than any track due to there amazing vibe and message!!!
cheers.

yes, both old and new, if they combined in proper way it's nice. but i think dj shouldn't play all his set with unrleased unknown music.           Without Deviation, Progress Is Not Possible.

Old our new, I don't really care, as long as the set, the mix is done well, and it all goes well together.

I think that new stuff in parties has two stratum looking at, and i'll explain: When an artist or a dj play a new unreleased track that nowone familiar with it create mysterious with the pepole who listten to it.
Pepole talk, try to get info about the new track name or with who it written and other intresting stuff you find in the artist music\set.

I found it very nice (and fun).
