hello please find enclosed my new track...its called genre mash as it is a mix of lots of styles..please forgive the rolling start....my computer is not gonna be near me for a few months and wanted to get my summers work heard!!! its quite long so flick through if you want!! Hi there,
Genre Mash,
Nice atmosphere in the whole. I liked the diverse between the different styles. It sounds interesting and not so boring… the melody is really nice, it has fine ambience.
I liked bouncing cycle more then Genre Mash. Great beat, I liked the African drums in the middle… sound very nice! Great mixing too.

cheers guys!! a few of the portucal crew!! Thats wicked as i've just spent an amazing two weeks there..boom of course and then travelling with a girl i met. everyones is really friendly there!! Great country!! Thanks everyone I am writing a new trance track that is sounding good...unfortunalty my parents moved and im staying at a mates so my gear is not with me!! Have to drive to them at the week end to get a few hours writing in!! Will be up soon!!

Hey, nice track (Genre Mash). I don't have any improvements to suggest on the musical aspect of it. Everything is perfect. Don't change anything. Only thing is that all sounds are at the centre. I think if you pan some sounds at left right and take advantage of the whole stereo field the sound will be bigger. It sounds like mono now.
The bouncing cycle is fantastic. Don't change anything. Here you took advantage of the whole stereo field and it sounds big. Where did you get these trumpets from? I haven't found any sample library that sounds so realistic. Is it a real trumpet playing? And the female voices, where did you get them?

The trumpet was my friend simon at uni...he used to play at school and hadnt really since so I persuaded him to do some for me, we had a few beers and spliffs to relax (important) and he just did it to the right key and got several takes down, then i picked out the best ones and arranged them. I was pleased simon said he thought the track was better without the trumpet (typical fragile confidence of a musician) the female vocals were Zanna my mates girlfriend, we had talked about it for ages but never did any sessions, so one evening when we had been drinking alot we thought lets do it! It was a fun session! You can hear the crack of beers cans at the beginning...drink is good for relaxing artists and for doing session when you know what you want to do, however its rubbish when you are trying to program anything or generally write music...i try an avoid sample libaries....my mate mate got a 'ethnic chants' cd and heard lots of stuff from the first shpongle album, which kinda killed it for him!! I want to start using more sounds sourced from the outside world using a DAT and then processing them loads, hopefully it would mean they sound original and wont date fast, as nature cant sound dated really!! Anyway im rambling abit, could go on and on, hopefully i will get my set up back and i can get this new trance one online, I think it will be liked!!
