so it strikes me that this is a very subtle album
you don't notice the tweaks until at least the 10th listen
but they're in there!!!
it's done in a way that it doesn't lose the big band feel
very clever
  new Hadal Drop album on the way

finally i got hold of this album.
it's a great one! flanger managed to surprise me... again 
very easy listening by which i mean light, flowing, daydreamy and on top of that also excellent in musicianship and production. the only thing that bothers me is that there are 2 versions of atleast 2 tracks which don't differ that much so if you listen to the album on repeat every fourth track or so is almost the same.
but that's only on repeat
the "electronics" are there but this time mostly brilliantly camouflaged. hats off to the masters of subtle programming.

I love down the river!!!
its the most chilled out track ive heard in a while. Its been stuck in my head for so long. Love listening to it as soon as i wake up, puts me in a good mood for the rest of the day.
Amazing album, truly different from the other flanger stuff. I was actually quite shocked when i first heard it.
The sound is so good! its great how they managed to capture the 1930's sound whicle still having the modern phat sound in it!

yeah, "Down the River" is prob'ly my fave too
so um.. yeah... my initial question stands
can anyone recommend stuff like this?
even if it's original 20s stuff, I'm still interested

check out www.boomkat.com its an indy cd store
they have an electronica/post-jazz section
lots of wierd and wonderfull electronica jazz including the flanger stuff and others
check out this band call homelife, also released on ninja tunes(same label as flangers last 3 albums) interesting stuff |
