Yeah, you have to take Manson and read between the lines at many points/statements. I for one like the way he provokes. I am the Idiot/animal that will not be my self! .. I guess you know Skinny Puppy .. Alo check out Yello .. Oh, and Zeromancer? not "psy" though
I just have to state: Marilyn Manson properly "saved" my life many years ago. I had 0 confidence in my self and was a unhappy. He, his music, lyrics taught me that I have to believe in my self and "fuck the rest". If one sees his message in the right angle, you’ll see that he's a big preacher of believing in your self and to stand for what you believe in. Don't be a sheep. Think for your self. Be proud to be original, do not feel ashamed to feel different, because different is better "better" then the norm. ect. You know? I love him. I don't need him anymore, but "he" helped me a lot. – but this is me and me, not them and they.

I know Ayreon "the human equation" and that's a wicked album and "Deloused in the crematorium" by Mars Volta is far too inteligant and Immense to be dancable, but they do put on a damn good live show. I prefered watching At the drive-in when they were about though. I'll have to check out those other guy's too.

Porcupine Tree is my favourite band
I see where your nickname 'Darkmatter' comes from, now
I recommand all the Canterburry scene: Soft Machine, Gong, Caravan...
Tool of course, and also Mars Volta!
Marillion is a band with lots of subliminal psychedelia, you should also check it out.
Also look for bands like IQ, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, early Genesis (1970-1978), Yes, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Magma, ...
There are soooo many

The Mars Volta might be the best music ever heard by man "De-loused...." is actually their most easy-digestible album. "Amputechture" and especially "Frances The Mute" are much weirder and more psychedelic. but everything written by omar rodriguez-lopez is brilliant....he's a goddamn genius, and i'm a goddamn TMV whore!
By Ayreon i especially like the track "Hope" together with Dream Theater singer James LaBrie. it sounds really 60ies-ish with great great melodies.
from my list you should definetely check Kaabel and Tratosphere. the latter being a swiss bass/drums/synths combo. awesome. Kaabel are from north-america i think...i have only heard some tunes in the net, not more, but it sounded huge.
Porcupine Tree is one of my favourites too. but i'm more familiar with the "song-structure-stuff" they did, tunes like "Shesmovedon", "Even Less", "Arriving somewhere...". if it comes to virtuose stuff, there are better ones (see The Mars Volta:)).

Man, you've got great tastes
As for Porcupine, you might like to try and listen to the Signify album which is a kind of transition between the 'ambient-rock' and the 'song structured'. Great gems in that. In a more Floydish vein, you can try the amazing 'Sky Moves sideways' and the trance-friendly 'up the downstairs' and 'voyage 34' (which has been remixed by Quantum a few months ago under the name 'Breakdown').
Happy psy-rock digging!!

Spacemen 3
Loop
Very hard to find Loop on CD, as they split in the early 90's and no one has reissued their stuff to date.

Well, as this thread seems not to be only about neo-psy-rock but psyrock in general, i think Iron Butterfly must be mentioned here as well.
