Negative Energy In Scenes-Getting Rid Of It?

How do you deal with backstabbing and negative vibes in your scene-especially when it's become a major problem. It's tearing our local scene to shreds. There's people who won't speak to eachother anymore, alot of namecalling, rumors, shadyness, verbal pissing matches, etc. People can feel the bad energy at parties too (well, I have). It's so bad we need an exorcist or something. HOW DO YOU SAVE YOUR SCENE FROM THIS? |

Hmmm... I dont really find any of these responses satisfactory, they seem more like cop outs too me.
First off, it isnt "just human nature". These problems are more severe some times/places/scenes than others (although always present to some extent).
"Be the change you want to see in the wold" is a good start, but often is not enough. Sometimes more direct action is required, and sometimes "being the change you want to see" will only get you squashed. Sometimes it is necessary to sink to the level of those you despise in order to demonstrate to them the consquences of if everyone acted like they do.
What Pax is talking is very serious and important, let's keep this thread going.

Let's say you love your local trance scene. It's like your second, weird, psychedelic family. Now imagine that scene.. GONE. That's the fear I'm having right now-that everyone will just say "FUCK THIS, I'M LEAVING." |

well, its totally up to them in that case... if theyre youre friends they always will be, and should it matter wether the psy scene is on or not? if the scene gets canned due to various external forces... id say stay put till you enjoi it and then move on.

So what are you saying, whenever a good thing has problems it should just be abandoned ("let go", "move on")? What ever happened to people actively dealing with problems?

First of all great thread pax . was thinking of posting something on the same lines a few days ago but didnt for the fear of people filling up the post with intelligent one liners
negativity exists .. we cant deny it .. where does it stem from .. drugs? psychedelic rivalry ? who 's got the moves ? new kids on the run? who's wearing the most killah shades ?

i'm going through the same dilemma .. is it worth dealing with ? how much of the world can you change ... why should you deal with the problem when you know in your heart you are not instrumental in creating the problem .. take up the weight of the world on your shoulders fer no reason of yours ? be the change ..i try my level best to be a positive person at parties but inevatibly (at least for the last three parties ) have felt a lot negativity .. is it in my head or are people actually trying to unnecesarily screw up things .. and a the end of it what can you do .. communicate telepathically and suggest no bad vibes eh?
i know what ive posted is quite rhetorical but iam searching for answers myself

Well, helo everybody... This is my first post and Iīm glad that is in a subject thatīs worth the honor... hehehe
I belive this negativity is going on everywhere... Itīs because the scene is growing too fast... At first I was worried about it, but I come to think thatīs for the best...
Here in Brazil often there is a fever... a rush to something... like axé music... funk music... etc... Now itīs trance time...
The parties are gonna get filled with people that donīt know nothing about eletronic music but itīs in for the ride... The quality of the parties are gonna fall (for a while) and thatīs good cause when the next fever comes only the people who realy likes our lifestyle are going to the parties and we will be happy ever after...
Itīs good to have a place like this to discuss such things...

which i thaught it sucks but it turns out that its not !
