Foremost let me point out that we need to respect everybody's opinion. So lets take a deep breath and chill. READ what u type before replyin. Otherwise it can be interpreted in different negative ways.
Now that ive bored u wit my attempt at pacification lets move on.

Oddly for me (i dont know how many of u chaps share the same sentiments) ,i interpret Dark Psy as somethin which gives me a more haunting image of myself. In this im still partial towards Cosma. I know he's not part of this genre, but i feel a very cosmically darkness to his music.His music can sometimes move u too tears. Fatali is another artist who reminds me of Cosma but not in a copycat manner. I feel he shares the same vibes as Avihen did. R.I.P
Some other artist i feel still have a powerful influx of psychedelia would be
hallucinogen, transdriver,radar.

whatever....I like listening to psychedelic sounds, psychedelic dance music...too much non-psychedelic music being labeled as psychedelic these days. I dont have anything against anyone that likes full-on or whatever, but 95% of it simply isin't psychedelic. Energetic, yes. Trance, yes. But not psychedelic. A lot of good psychedelic music out there these days, but most full-on artists dont fall into the category of psychedelic music(although it has potential) and when I say I like psychedelic trance I dont want people to associate it with anything but that.
 We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home. |

btw theres no point in arguing over whats better, progressive or dark....theirs good music in both genres, and one appeals more to some people while another appeals to other people. It would be like arguing "I like cucumbers more than oranges" "no you stupid $%#@, oranges are rounder, and of an orange color, making them obviously much better than a green stick-shaped cucumber" Listen to whatever you like.....

mmm i see here that not many people know about the good full on for example if you ask me i'd say Star-X is psychedelic and Silicon Sound, Altom, Atomic Pulse, Serious Isness these are all great morning acts...And if you refer to me about this dark sequenced sounds music well it's psychedelic but do not tell me that you can dance or have a good trip to that! I cannot! Psychedelic today is limited music but the music that is good is really really good!

ganjagil it seems to me that u have never been to a good psychedelic party yet ... Cause with my eyes, and not once I seen a club full of people dance to dark full power sound , and none of them looked like they were having a bad trip , or dissapointd in some kind of way ...

hihihi never been to a Trance party you are right man i have no idea of the concept of it either...joking man i understand what you say and i fully agree that there is good dark music in fact my favourite thing to do is go all through the night and then go to the morning and this way it's the best trip! But it has to be good dark man cause i hear stuff nowadays that i do not really like!

its essential to have good dark sounds at a party, and then as the morning comes we can progress to full on. from where i come from, a lot of importance is given to full on music, so much so that its even played at night. the worst part is,the crowd seem to like it!
these different genres of music should be given equal importance and should be given out in the right blend,thats when the true essence of a party comes out.

Ok, some people might really like the night music, and be better in dancing to, DJ'ing or making it.
But to discuss it in terms of good and bad is quite narrow sighted.
And if one only see music as something that gives energy and enabels you to blast full-power non-stop I think you missing out on experiencing the full journey a party can be.
Nowadays it's many DJ's who is used to travel around and play short set's, and of course you don't have much time to build a journey in 3hrs.
And of course it becomes a competition who can blast the most, so you get ppl playing really hard music in the beginning of the party, when the energy is not built up yet.
Sure I don't think most of the music available is good in any genre, but darkpsy, full-on, old-scool and progressive all would have to be somewhat included if you want a really good party I belive.

the journey frm the dark side is far more beautiful than a totally full-on fluffy one.,, its gr8 to shift frm menog to protocultue in a matter of two hours (fr me thr isnt a better way of putting it ) and uncle bob a little distinction is reqd in this spectrum called psytrance .,, better wise than ignorant

I don't think it is unwise to allow no borders and boundries in my musical taste. I just choose not to classify or put labels on things. I say whatever sounds good for the moment and is right for the time is what I think is best.
You cannot go in with a definite formula, in my opinion. Formula's and requirements suck. Music to me should come from the heart. If that is ignorant, than I don't want to be wise. Just my opinion.

I dont think anyone can be wrong in this thread, well maybe me... cause iv`e missunderstood the topic....
of course all kinds of "psychedelic" music should be played at parties, its a time and place for everything...
all i wanted to say is that some of the music that is being played is very mainstream and that wont create the vibe im looking for... im looking for diversity...thats what i meant..
im not favourising anyone... surprise me, thats what i want...
hope i made my earlier post clearer...
