that's pretty crazy shit man... i don't mean to critisize your work, but, although quite real in the psychadelic qualitites, it lacks in balance, centalisation.. umm.. do you know anything about the principals of composition?
..well just ot give you a clue, composition is the organisation of the picture space..it guides the viewers eyes to the artists choice of focal point..
It can help convey emotion and aesthetic (in a pleasing quality) and can intensify or soothe emotional reaction, or reactions for your matter..
without a strong original composition, it is difficult, although not impossible, (you pulled it off) to resolve any artwork, regardless of skill or media..
>composition is the foundation, the basis, and the skeleton of the work< >for an idea, keep buddah in mind<
also, contrasts and unity, work well in compositon, as well as, spacial rest and periphral tension..
i think that complete absence of either contrast or unity is definetly unsatisfactory, utter boredom and/or confusion results of this, which to be quite openly honest, which is was what resulted in me with yours and is neither visually desirable(to me but..good idea..)..hopefull you can relate this to your art, and hopefully also, i don't sound like i'm bitching (i hate, oops.. don't like dogs)...
overall the VISUAL IMPACT, is what you are obviously after, i think this relates to all art workings, if you don't know what that means.. it's the matter in which the artwork is read or communicated by/to an auidence, the quality of this can be acheived through, well, all of the above, and your taste, dude..you're all over the show!!??!!
if you want any more blab about 'principals of design', which seems to be how you are trying to communicate, or even just your artistic pursuits (what you are on about), or advice on a bit of direction.. don't hesitate to write me... my art is pretty personal, based purely on mathematics, although i love and try to communicate it through design, but thats just me.. |

thanks for the constructive criticism.
im not interested, however, in scientific analysis of my art! i know about composition and design, and choose to let the work speak for itself, why does it have to measure up to or be compared to other art?
while some artists worry about keeping up with the "rules" of how to make great art, i am more concerned with the actual making of the art itself. and how it flows from my subconscious.... not outright "trying" to make it a certain way, other than the method of collage itself, which isnt easy.
while i realize they arent perfect, they work for me. i hope they inspire your art to be all the things you dont like about mine!

not everyone may appreciate your work but then again,no two minds are alike!
