There are phases lately when I get over the whole psychedelic musical experience thingi and dont wanna listen to anymore. Id rather listen to some nice alternative or old pop.

and then again after a few days Im back to the psychedelia my brain needs!
do you go through such phases when you dont wanna listen to hallucinogen or shpongle anymore, but could do with some smooth santana guitar leads!
do you..?

discuss!          Nothing is said that has not been said before.

all the time m8
it just gets way too boring if you keep on following just one kinda muzikk too dedicatedly
change is the law of the nature
i do listen to a lot of world muzik, electronica, idm, beatless stuff from time to time.....full of ideas n creativity and feels way better off at times
switching back to psychedelic becomes much more fun

its not albut hating or liking its about `change` from `time to time`....switching off n switching on...thats the key to stay away from boredom n get wreckless with one particular kinda stuff imho ofcourse

yes

i once in a while will pop in some pink floyd, zeppelin and doors if i want to go way back.......

or i will reminesce with the early 90's with pearl jam, soundgarden and smashing pumpkins......

or if i feel like a "gangster" ill get down with N.W.A, DMX or Wutang Clan.....

or if i feel a lil bit of melancholy i can put in some Depeche mode, cure or massive attack......

it all jus depends........

but i alwayz find myself coming back to groovy chunky chunes

I find it very much depends on present company, setting and mood. I don't really have periods of time where I listen to certain genres, but the trance I listen to moves in cycles of 1-4 weeks. Like for a bit I'll listen to some dark stuff, then another time minimal progressive, full on, goa, tech trance and even newish (supervisor... I'm yet to become insane) infected mushroom style stuff.

My most listened to CD in the last couple of years is Morrissey's "You are the Quarry". Rediculously good stuff.

Yes such phases are only natural . But the first thing in the morning for the past three four years for me has been mostly psychedelic. The rest of the day seems to pass by effortlessly if ive got my morning dose. Plus electronica is such a great way to wake up At least for me! otherwise the grateful deads , creedence clearwaters revivals and floyds are always there!

True. most of the time, the people im with listen to the music I listen to, and when if they arent into it, Im still playing what i wish to hear at that moment. but at times I grow into a feeling where Im quite done with psy chill or psy trance, for a couple of days.. I wouldnt enqueue any psychedelic/electronica music on my player but would rather play some very simple music like grunge or R n b.

I find music styles that I used to listen to good for reflection of what's been and looking forward to what is still to come..usually reminds me of how far I've come in a usually very short amount of time as far as musical taste, whether within the psy/prog/chill genres or on the large scale aspect of things.

So yeah, I think this is a big "Yes" from everybody..

ohhh mine were all over the place, in chronological order unknown, alternative rock (90s), michael jackson (at some point early on ?), hip hop/rap, trance/house, chillout/ambient, psytrance/goa, classical, jazz, world music..... today its psy and classical/world music

so yes.. its good to blend it up, or twist it up?

I started searching listen much music somhwre at 1985,Iron Maiden with two minutes 2 midnight killa track initiated me to metal...punk,hardcore,gothick,dark,rock..etc
Then somwhere at 92 I had my first touch with raves n parties...
Then somewhere at 96 my first touch with goa/psy/trance....
Last years I started like much chill out music and stopped searching much for trance(lit bit disapointed with the music of nowdays)...
But I believe in... "trance it all psy till u die"
