After waiting for many months , countless messages to Mr Nick Shivlink , this guy has not even sent me 1 copy of the cd i am featuring on. Initially when he took the track from me , he said its for a good cause so that Indian artists will get some recognition and hence i agreed not to take any money for this, which is fine eventhough i later found out that he did pay some artists. When i inquired about my copy he said it was not feasable to send Cd's outside India reason being they break etc.. So what does he offer? Putting up the mastered tracks on an FTP along with the cover art...wtf, i immediately denied it believing that no artist deserves this kind of treatment and sending a copy is the least a label can do,then he said he posted it to me but i never received anything , then he said he would send it with someone and nothing has happened till today.. This guy is very unprofessional in running his label , now im fedup.. but i just wanted everyone to know what kind of label it really is , showing no respect whatsoever..Please dont start labels if you cant manage it , we already have 1000 labels making releases today and we have reached a situation where many good tracks go un-noticed.. Its funny how these people ask to contribute towards the scene and in the end they F+CK you off.. you will never hear any good words from me or my freinds about your label.

Never understood this is happening so much. Label managers have to realize that what an insulting situation it is when some DJ or listener has a CD that an artist is featured on when the artist hasn't even seen a copy of the same.
If the printing is done via Saikosounds you can have them send copies to the artists before the CDs are put up for sale. If the printing is done in India then there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE! Artists must get the CDs before anyone else. It cost's less than 50 rupees to send a CD worldwide from India... 5 rupees more for a padded envelope.
Pretty surprising man. I thought Shivlink was one of the more professional labels judging by the quality of their releases. This stuff is Label Mgmt 101! ... quite a shame its been looked over.

true thatt !!
i dont run label but still i send and receive international couriers- they arrive on time and they reach perfect wherever they are sent or the courier company is liable. (india is not that third world a nation lol)
read: blue dart / fed ex
artists must get a copy of the cd they release on just for the simple fact that its their hard work and time which enables a lable to make money lol - its not too much math and very simple to understand.

Firstly your Cds are in dubai at one of my friends place .. this is wat i told you wen we spoke last no ? beeen waiting for you to contact me . .. so i could give u the details .. you did't bothered to ask me or mail after we spoke Last ..
Its a tricky business and definately hard to manage these days , its easy to write a story and show your so called Artist Attitude .. but its hard when you loose 1500-2000 euros on every release .. IT IS HARD TO MANAGE YES !!!

i will tell this friend of mine to send you the cds right away on ur address .. really sorry for all the troubles you had .. and we will make sure we dont bother you any more in future ..

Is Samsara and Shivlink Records owned by the same person?
I see that Shivlink Records has a lot in queue... dont have much info though... but they have 5 releases in queue..

if im not mistaken...... shivlink is managed by someone in mumbai..... its the godamn capial of india...... go to linkin road and youll find alot of fed-ex's, blue dart etc........
there is not reason for you to to make clarification's to the artist..... how can you forget it at your friend's place in dubai........
make sure the artist gets his copy man........ its like saying i designed microsoft word but microsoft didn't give me a copy......
and if shivlink can't do that much, then shame on them...........

I really don't feel this part of the topic should be part of a public forum.
As an artist it is your responsibility to ask for payment beforehand. "you got paid so I should get paid now" is just dirt flinging at this point.
Some simple advice...
If the CD is going to be sold. ie.. make some money, then study the market, divide estimated profits by 10 (or how many ever are on the VA) and ask for your cut from the start.
This is YOUR responsibility as an artist when you're appearing on a VA.
The not getting copies of the CD is inexcusable from the labels side but please, keep this being paid issue out as it's something you must demand as your right as a musician selling your music.
The one small truth in Samsara's ridiculous reply is that the Label business is actually in a mess and getting worse. Don't hand over your tracks unless you get your cash in hand. That is probably the reason why the "other guys" got paid in the first place.
@ Samsara/Shivlink, whoever is behind that post... if you're losing a Lac+ with every release then please shut down the label and open a chai stall in Goa with Moonsun. You're making us all look bad.
