Hi!
I am pretty new here, this is my first post. I thought i'd introduce myself here, since i am from Sweden. Malmoe to be correct. I am pretty new to the scene. I have listended to Simon posfords projects on and off since about 1995 and recently, about 2 years ago i discovered Infected Mushroom.
I am working as a music producer in the mainstream pop-scene, but i am fed up with that crap business. Now i have decided to do what i want, and it is this psy-trance thing. I do all my work at home on a Cubase SX/VSTi/reason-setup. But when i am finished there i take it to the studio where i work on a protools-setup and mix it there.

oh, what i'd like to know? I don't know, hehe...generally what works in terms of music-creating? From listening to my clip, am i in the right direction? Perhaps my style is passe´, or maybe it's the bomb?
What different styles of this psychedelic trance are there. I noticed someone mentioning progressive, it seems to me that is more of a monotone thing (?)
I don't know, i may have more to find out, i'll just look around the forum
I am glad you like my music, that is the kind of music i want to work with. |

I really like your sample ... really nice and psychedelic. It is to hard to judge a track from a small sample tho ... and especially really psychedelic tracks, as they should be experienced from start to finish ... as a journey.
Try to check out some of the danish stuff from acts like Grapes Of Wrath, Jahbo, Alrune etc ... and also check out some of the finnish stuff from Texas Faggot, Mandala Vandalz, Squaremeat etc.
It may be too twisted for your taste, but it's worth a go
Speaking of progressive I can really recommend some of the swedish stuff from the labels like Digital Structures. Artists like Son Kite, Ticon, Shaman and Tegma is really well produced, and it's a nice introduction to the progressive style.
Then there's also some of the German Hamburg stuff from Timetech, Buzz, Buzzmonx, Haldolium, Bitmonx etc ... also very well produced, but you might find the style a little different.
But ... these are only recommendations ... there is so much psytrance out there, and there's such a big variety in things nowadays, that it's pretty hard for a newcomer to find out what he likes (personally I like most psychedelic trance tho).
Give it a try, and come back and tell us what you like, and if you have more questions

Thank you Goblim. I have already taken a look at that forum. I'll join for sure. By the way is the forum new? Not many posts there. I also have a discussion forum in swedish, but not only for music, it's for everything possible. Be sure to check it out, folks at http://mongo.zapto.org
It's not always online tho, because i use the same pc for musicmaking as for webserver.
So, Goblim are you also from Malmoe?
