just be extra sure on who you send them to.
and dont mass-send demos to labels cause then you dont know who gets it in the end.

and DEFFINETELY dont give them to friends who are a bit "unstable", you know what i mean...

Keep up the work and it will pay of in the end!!..[:)]           For the TT beliver: www.techtrance.2tunes.com

A good advice is so put glitches in your demo tracks to labels .... this way no one will be able to use the tracks

i dont agree with Elysium (nothing new ) since the people youre giving your music to are going to use it and test it on the dancelfoor, not collect it; so whats the point of having sound bad?

its just a matter of who to give it to and who not to be trusted.

Some artists NEVER spread their music on the net:
you want to hear their music? -buy the cd.
wanna hear unreleased tracks? -book them for a show.

artists/labels that stand in my mind as doing this:

Chemical Crew - Nothing they dont want to be on the net is on the net, as a result look at the demand frenzy for Zoo3.

CPU - NOTHING is on the net... nobody but 3dvision has his stuff.

this is just 2 that came right to mind.
much respect to those who do this - you are taking yourselves much more prof then some imho.

I do not send my music for people to "test" it on dancefloors and via their DJ friends... If a label A&R cant hear if a track is suitable for the dancefloor without testing it he or she should not work as a A&R. It's as simple as that!

And the sound is not bad at all.. it's the sound that will be released... it just have a few glitches within the track to prevent DJ's from trading and playing the unreleased tracks.

Anyway if labels cant agree to the glitches and argue that they need to play it at various parties before they will decide if they want to release it then they are welcome to their opinion. I am just not going to send them any tracks then. And I know plenty of other artists that think the same.

labels are a diffrent thing.
sending music to other artists/dj's are a diffrent thing.

dont generalize and punish the dj's

just know who u give it to so u know who leaked it if it is leaked.

many labels i spoke with, requested a full quality demo...
that takes me to a hard decision quest, me as not known new artist, how i send it if i met many labels saying they wanna test it on the dancefloor and stuff... i don't see the point, put it on your stereo and check.           Without Deviation, Progress Is Not Possible.

no one is pushing anyone here. this are just security-consequences. all the labels and djs say:"you can trust me, i will not give this track to anyone blabla."
some of our/my tracks are shared in the internet and i 100&ly know, that we only give it to 2 labelowners one from a big label, and one to a small label. you can test it by yourself try to find: "TriOptimum - Elmar rmx" in the net. no problem to find it. this is monetary loose of round about 300-400 euros for us, no one will release it know. and its very easy to say, give it to the right people, but the next step will be to find out, who is right and who is not. i dont know every labelowner since the kindergarden. what will happen, if you ask us for sending a cd for your new labelcompilation. how can i know, that you will stand by your word ??(man, dont get me wrong - there are persons outside which are trustful and i think you are also trustful - otherwise you wouldnt say that)

i have take my consequences, only demos with glitches or cutted parts in future! a killer track is a killer track and wont be tested. a glitched demo is says as much about the quality of a track as much as listening the fullversion at home. and the people who buy the cd of your label are too 80% people which are not DJs. and you would it also dont like very much if the take it from the shop and say: i have to test it at home first.

this is all not the best way and it makes someone not realy happy. but we all can say:"thank you very much." to the people which ignore the artists saying: "please no copys"

cheers
