moving to Delhi this summer - looking for info

My wife just got a job opportunity that will require us to live in Delhi for two years starting this summer! (Moving from the United States.) I was wondering if there was any psytrance to be heard in Delhi or nearby, or if anyone here lived there that would want to meet up sometime once I arrived. Not sure of the dates, but I would probably be coming out sometime in July.
Also, if there is any other advice or interesting things to know about that are non-psy I would be interested in that as well. Although I'll be living in Delhi, I hope to do some traveling, so information about other places of interest is also welcome.

Delhi is Good.
-> I guess you have some gigs happening around the city. You could hop off to Noida, theres a CLUB ELEVATE in Atta Market. Noida is just 30 minutes Drive from Delhi, or 200 bucks on the Rickshaw meter, but i guess the Delhi Rickeshaws cannot cross into Noida and Vice Versa. (not to miss the Giant SHIVA STATUE near the Film City)
-> If the week gets too long and Boring, you can get a bus from Kashmiri gate,old delhi, and Hop off to the Himalayas. Its a 12 hour travel (one way by bus) to Dhramshala or Kulu. You can also head towards Rishikesh over short Weekends and meet the Babas from the mountains. Its around 8 hours bus journey (one way).
-> some other attractions in Delhi. The hippy bazaar at CP.
-> India regional food @ delhi Haat.
-> Beer and Snacks @ Morrisons.
-> Taj Mahal, is just 4 hours away. So take a bus a head off to Agra over one weekend.
-> Or just slip away into the mountains for one long and nasty month, Manali, Manikaran, Kasol and a thousand blessed places. Great Weather and lots of other great things ;-)
-> Its boring to kill your weekends in Delhi, unless you really have good people to stick with. The weather is bad and the traffic is madness. So move off the city when you have time.
Over extremely long periods take a hike to rajasthan (between november and Jan) and try going to Pushkar and jaisalmer.

hahahahah. Man how this forum sucks. Everytime some Indian has come here looking for parties and action, he's buzzed off by everyone with smartass nonsense like ohhh dude so you're nagre patil..Dude go check out page 3 parties.com..party at home..blah blah bullshit

why are u guys flaming a guy thats expressing his opinion..where is this totalitarian attitude coming from?? you might disagree with what he says but that should not be an excuse for ordering him to shut up..are we not entitled to even expressing our opinions now??
I for one kinda agree with what bodhi says and have seen it happen many times in India..not to say that the "Whole Forum" is the same but his observation is true to a large extent..
Indians need to get rid of this suck up to foreigners and brush away the indians mentality as thats been our downfall for a long time..
I have even heard this from many foreigners who have visited india and shared their thoughts with me..
I am sure there are people who dont subscribe to this behavior but thats no reason to flame bodhi..good observation man!!

Thank you cubalibra..I knew I wasn't the only one who thinks so because you've got to be seriously braindead not to notice this happening everywhere in India, also on this forum to a large extent.
Although it has nothing to do with the topic, but I'm a girl and lots of times I read such ridiculous stuff on this forum that I'm tempted to come back and give out long drawn arguments substantiating my point, for instance to the guy who told me to shut up, but then lately I'm doing yoga and also controlling my temper..haha.
It seems like our hospitality comes out only in front of goras, I know this happens in villages and where people lack education, but seeing it on this forum where people clearly lack anything in life is inexusable!
and what does this have to do with divide and rule?? |
