dont know about "this is THE one" or "this is THE party folks" but I am looking forward to this.
Mother are very nice organizers and for a big festival this shouldn't be too uncomfortable with beautiful onsens (hot springs) a short drive away.
Looking forward to Arturo's set. I think it was him that blew me away at Soulclipse earlier this year.
 The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

perhaps itｴs THE one in Japan. The line-up is good, Iｴd like to see Midi live.
But THE ONE, really, the one everybody is talking about with a line-up Japan never saw, but who knows? someday we will see, is BOOM in Portugal. I will start saving for next edition.

That's so weird because I just watched the BOOM DVD today. So jealous of all my friends that are going while I'm stuck here.
Have to say, IMHO, the DVD wasnt very impressive but I heard the festival is.
The music was like new black polished chrome

DVDs can be deceptive. It depends on what the camera-men are feeling, the edition, sound quality etc.. But the BOOM thread (in Festivals section) is impressive. Now itｴs at the 74th page and you see all the old-schooll guys waiting anxiously for it to start. Theyｴre making a countdown. Funny, the only few complaints about the line-up are made by guys who are missing the acts that we see every year here in Japan. Itｴs like we are a lot of steps behind..
Back at Mother, which is a great festival.

Wonderful party - thank you so much Mother!
positives:
1) Weather, location and onsens.
- it was hot, thnx for the onsen info. yu-taka, beautiful scenery.
2) Performance Highlights
- Taiko! Japanese parties should start with this when possible. Loved this opening to the 2nd night.
- Ryo! One of the best sets I've ever heard. Really uplifting and gave me so much energy, thank you!
- Protoculture, Daijiro, Xavier Morel... I also enjoyed very much.
3) Orginization
- security, deco, layout, information, rubbish, entrance, toilets... everything was smooth and enjoyable for me.
4) Crowd
- nice people, nice vibe! Mother seem to have kept the Core trance people but also have fresh young people (nice garu & garuo) that inject so much energy on the dance floor. I think the vibrant young crowd shows us that Mother is still growing and becoming bigger, has the chance to become one of the big festivals around the world. Not many bad elements came to this party.
Negatives
- too few to mention.
Overall, Mother are a smart organizer that has its heart in the right place (they are not ALL about money). They care about doing things professionally and making a memorable party for everyone. I was happy they kept the music UP and pumping in the morning so everyone finishes on a high. Interesting to see the Solstice connection with X-Dream, Xavier Morel, Ryo and others joining the party. This party is now my favourite in Japan and I have faith that Mother can lead the new wave Japanese trance boom! Looking forward to what they will do in the future!
