Hi!
Nice thread, I have been looking for this information for some time now 
I still have some questions regarding painting on stretch fabric. I work with the Polystretch P5 that the company Showtex distributes (www.showtex.be).
It is a mix of spandex and polypropylene, which makes it stronger.
The fabric is fire retardant. When you work with the fabric, you can feel that one side has some sort of sprayed on layer that sticks to your fingers a bit. I suppose that’s what makes it fire retardant.
I wonder if some of you have experience airbrushing on (fire retardant) stretch fabric.
Do you spray it when stretched?
What type of paint do you use?
How to make sure the paint doesn’t come off?
Should I work with multiple thin layers?
Any tips or tricks?

I use another, simpler technique in comparison to air-brush, hand painting or gesso. But the result is great anyway: I tie-dye large fabrics (2m x 3m) with UV acrylic paints. Before tie-dying them, I mix the paints to a 1:3 mix of paint to warm water. Mind you, tie-dying fabrics this size only works if you do it on the ground. After tie-dying them in different shapes: whirls, stars, circles, I let them dry. After that I hand-paint them with mystic symbols with black paint - which under UV light give a 3D sensation to the paint.
As I said above, it does not look like the traditional SpaceTribe backdrop we are used to see; but they are beautiful and their effects are wonderful. My tip is to use a lot of pink paint, pink is magical under UV. Do not use yellow too much, it's very bright.

hi , i would like to know which is the best uv paints for fabric painting, also whether ready to use paints or super-thick concentrate that can be watered down paints r better, right now using space magic ,

Hey Full Maya,
I am airbrushing lycra now with Createx Wicked colours and I'm very happy with it.
Kind of expensive though when covering big areas.
Be sure to heat set the paint with an iron to fixate the paint onto the lycra.
