Hey everyone
I was wondering about mixing down the low end of a track I'm working on.
I want to make the low end mono. But simply only the low end, nothin else.

What is the best way to go about making all the sounds say below 200hz into mono? Thanks!

proQ also has an option that only effects the sides. using it you can low cut the sides.           https://soundcloud.com/fungophago

route to bus, apply any good stereo enhancer, put down to your needs, benefit.

post production you could still apply ozone and fiddle around there...

there´s a hell lot of tools like waves s1, flux, brainworx (stereomaker, though the eq´s nice, but not sure if it fits here) etc. just choose according to your needs and taste!

You can use Izotope ozone 5.

It has a multiband stereo imaging section. So you can set the first band to 200hz, pull down the fader and have everything below 200hz mono.

in most cases you don't need low-end anywhere except kick and bass. So imho the best way is to process the tracks with low-end separately, instead of applying something on master channel.

Agreed. You van group the low end tracks in Live, mostly K&B, filter out the very lows and monofy it by Utility.

bx control.. waves PS22 x-split, Mono sum around 150-200hz depends & narrow the image,if its conflicting with other stereo sounds M/S eq to mix it in behind the leads and FX and narrow the image til it sits, works nicer on slower progressive baselines rather than the fast "full-on" type in my opinion ...

no need for two channels if using something like Brainworx and someone mentioned ohmnicide for M/S , perfect, there's my 2pennies ...

as for mixing it down on master...sum1 mentiond PRO-Q,me too, love it!! best eq imo, i would slam Pro-q and hi-pass and cutout its sides to where ever it suits n sounds "right"...
