Is there a place for it?

I'm not talking minimal techno at all but minimal style psy where it isn't heavily layered but more focused on rhytmic patterns than as many farty squelches and high bpm?

I guess my fav. in this style for example was the second M.O.S. album.

I'm just having way to much playing with my new drum modules & ambient modules on my system and it's sounding similar but different in some ways...

just curious as there was much "hate" towards this style around the turn of the century, kinda like how some feel towards high bpms/psykovsky now almost           Cuntus Maximus.

Always!!!

I could name a few, but one of my favourite was S.O.N.U.S. German act with really fat sound.

Vaishyias used to make very minimal, slightly melodic, music that I like also.

I can´t seem to find this style so often nowadays. And I´m not talking about Zenon´s music. Zenon, for me, is too mechanical/tecnhoid.           LOADING...

auricular,some haldolium, some bitmonx,
spirallianz, midi miliz, 5D, eternal basement..and so on.

not much like that today, or honestly, none at all afaik.

i try to make (some of my) music with that time in mind, but to my own limits only, so nothing in the champions league ;-)

my problem with zenon music is it does not have that driving flow and groove that made you dance for hours and hours. zenon has techno grooves.. doesnt get me dancin.

could you post some youtube link?

i think minimal psy is born cause of minimal studio setups and possibilties , and it s great..when i just play with my drum machine.. a few sample/ synth on top and i m minimal heaven. coming back all hardware worklow would be awesome to make minimal psy like around 2000 imo lot of fun , just a daw to sequence so it s not too much archaic

Indeed PoM.

Magnetrixx for me has more elements, little bit like Double Dragon on my post.

Back in that time, friends of mine had this minimal psy project (wich as PoM mentioned, has big relation with the lack of experience and gear):

Sorry no clips yet. I'm waiting until my new home studio is set up early next year in my new house. Mainly as some of the FX modules I've ordered will be on hold until then, as well as I'll have saved for some better software to mix down the sounds.

Thanks to you all for the replies, some great examples & ideas. Midi Miliz & The Delta's second & third album are big influences as well.

I find my modular gear is much more suited to techno & tech-trance sounds for now, my software I'm using for melodic stuff but will see when more modules have arrived           Cuntus Maximus.

I loved this style when it came out, when I wanted to 'come down' off high energy goa/psy. It felt natural for the energy to shift in psycles.

Today I love it when the weather's a certain way and my energy is at a certain level. It still jives with me and rocks me into good feeling.

nice tunage in here.

funny how that topic regarding that music comes up like every couple of months here.

people search it, but nobody makes it anymore..
today the offbeat guys have gone electrohouse8bitsamplegay.

you can look for panzar productions on ekto for some new stuff along these line, but no "big" lablel i know of would release stuff like that.
