Frist of all, Univ of Iowa is a pretty liberal college. Its among the top liberal arts colleges in US. Secondly, we agree to have a non-alcohol and non-smoking event which is a must for univ people. Thirdly, we are lucky to have a building which they just use as a museum. Extra money for them wont hurt. Fourthly, this is our second event up there and when they saw how we do it in the first time, they are convinced that we are up there for music and music itself.
There are other reasons too but those are some of the starters.
I think there is a electronic party in Univ of New Hapmshire this Saturday with a side psy-trance room. They did something similar last month also. Both the events happened in the culture building of the univ.
I guess if you know somebody from the cultural committe or something, things will be much easier.

a new school week has begun, and flyering has already been churning up numerous successes! a few students in a class i have on Mondays, which i have yet to hit with flyers, have already come up to me asking about the event! we got flyers towards the end of last week, so i did not have time to hit my Monday or Tuesday classes, but surprisingly, many of these students have already heard about the event through a friend, through the facebook ads we are running, or by seeing the flyers around campus!
im telling you, the noobs will be in full force at this one, so all veteran stompers should come out to help set the pace and vibe! this event should have an absolutely enormous turn out of fresh faces and energy! BRING YOUR STAMINA!

How did you manage to convince them to use the venue in the first place? Is the University just that amazingly cool? I wonder if we can try that down here...

The trick is to approach them with a "you cant refuse" attitude. Dont feel shy or nervous about what you do or what psy is, as if you present it as a multi-cultural fusion of new electronic sounds with old tribal ways Universities can get excited pretty easily, especially with a bunch of cash to back you up  I guess it all depends where you are from though |

sounds like you guys know how work the system to your advantage - always a useful skill to have 
that's great that you have the support of the school and the community, definitely a recipe for success.
as for the lineup, well it's quite a diverse array of homegrown talent. really excited for you guys, hope to be able to visit Psyowa one of these days!

i cant believe this is only 1.5 weeks away! this town is buzzing ladies and gentleman, we even have an ad running on facebook to make things that much more official. and did we mention, the major town News Paper that collabs with the University of Iowa, called The Daily Iowan, has done a full fledge article on Mindoutpsyde events and the Psytrance / Goatrance culture? ;D The article has been written for the Culture / Arts / Music section to be the headlining article, with a full array of high resolution color photos from Tribe Connection v1.0 at the new venue! The article will feature interviews with myself, Chris, and Nick, and also Primordial Ooze, Androcell, and some scientists from the University of Iowa and their comments on the neural properties of the music!
the students will be in FULL ATTENDANCE! so lets set that bar nice and high now... i dont plan on letting up on the dance floor very much once the headliners start blastin, its gonna be hard to keep me outta there with the insane sound system that will be present.
More bass than any sound system weve EVER brought. at Echoes, the outdoor last summer, we had 4 of those JBL bass cabinets and 2 Tops. The same guy did sound for Tribe Connection v1.0, but only brought 2 bass cabinets and 2 tops.
THIS TIME: 6 Bass Cabinets (2 - 18" Subs in each), and 2-4 tops depending on echo in the atrium. PREPARE TO GET ROCKED, well be feeling this one the next day... fo sho.
