I'll write a review after I recover, but that was the best MOP party to date for sure.

Wow, what can I say, I am back in my bedroom and what I've experienced this weekend seems like a sweet psychedelic dream. What a place, what a party, what people! Friendly and kind, pure good vibes all around. You Psyowans really know how to get it done properly.
The music flow was incredible, everybody played super nice, bad flippin' ass! Massive introduction to the night from Collision and Aktif (dude!), then the Ooze (holy shmoly!), Facehead (he had the crowd rocking like I've not seen in while!), Ctrl+Alt+Del (sharp and solid, wow!), and to top it off some crunchy morning madness from Airyck and Paradigm.
I am going to need some time to recover, but boy, was it mad fun...
Thank you guys at Mindoutpsyde for everything, you are top-notch, pulling off world-class events in who would've thought where! Iowa is definitely on the psytrance map now and I feel like it's just the beginning!

WOW, what a freakin awesome party. I first want to say thank you to Mindoutpsyde for this amazing experience, you guys have been constantly raising the bar and outdoing yourselves and everyone's expectations. It was great to get to help setup and see the full transformation of the venue. All of the deco was awesome, loved the chill altar, strings about looked sweet in the blacklight, raindrops everywhere and those amazing MOP banners! One thing I noticed and was really excited about was the number of people that came "early" (before 10 or 11pm), great to see the come early, stay late mentality spreading. Konflux seemed pretty impressed at the number of people that were still going in the morning. It was great to finally meet some people I've seen at parties, but never introduced myself to- Scatter, Geal, Chris, Paradigm. I also had a great time chatting with Facehead about music. I was also seriously impressed to see him helping out cleanup! One of the headliners walking around with a trash bag! No where else would this happen but in the family we call the psytrance scene.

DJs in both rooms from start to finish were ON FIRE! I'll start by saying how awesome it was to see the chill room fully on and apreciated all throughout the night. Great music and vibes the whole time. I only caught parts of people's sets, but they all sounded good. Props to Terry (PSI Fu) on his first performance, sounded great!

The main stage was just amazing. Trevor and Phil were rockin the opening set- loved that unreleased Meta track. Chris played some awesome, energetic music that really kept the vibe going. Nick threw down a shroud of nasty darkness- I need to get more albums that you have cause I love every one of them! Scott and Igor continue to created ridiculously awesome live sets. Such high energy and perfect flow. I love the techy/energetic feel that you stacked on a wave of dark basslines, it was like an acid techno and dark psy fusion-so cool! Facehead tore everyone up! I was soooo proud of everyone for being able to keep up with his high bpm onslaught! So many good dark and twisted sounds were played and mixed together with unbelievable precision. I loved the blend of pumping basslines with an array of sweeping sounds and unpredictable eery noises. Konflux threw down a great set as well that flowed perfectly. Ctrl:Alt:Del- freakin wow man! Not only did he throw down an amazing set with an awesome progression, but he had so much energy on stage it was infecting everyone dancing. His set was a relentless attack of energetic tracks. I can't even put it into words, but there was just such an amazing amount of energy flowing through the speakers that got everyone goan! Paradigm and Airyck played an awesome morning set. It was great to see you guys keep the energy level high even in the morning. It was a refreshing burst of wonderful music, uplifting and powerful!

Thanks again Mindoutpsyde, everyone that helped setup and tear down and everyone who brought their energy and positive vibes to the party! I can't wait for the next one!           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Finally recovered to write a review though my body is still sore. Let me start off by saying: WHAT A CRAZY PARTY!!!! The energy was so relentless that I came back from the party and had to put on my iPod and dance alone in my bedroom till 1PM on Sunday. YES, it was so CRAZY!

So ladies and gentlemen, let me put down my views on the unrelentless all out no holds barred assault called RAINDANCE!

Deco
====

With no prevailing confusion over venue like Tribe Connection, we were able to put all our energy in setting up the place and wow what a result. It was fun throwing down the strings randomly to make the design. Raindrops were crazy and Energons and Carli's altar in the chil stage - AMAZING! The two big MoP banners were icing on the cake. Loved when I saw that everybody was involved from 4PM in setting up the place. Great to see so much energy being put in making the whole experience extra special. Special props to Carli, Enbergon, Blake, Mallory, Ravuah, Alan, Jason and everybody else if I missed your name.

Music
=====

I dont know where to start. Our best lineup ever. Everybody complemented each other in perfect way. Relentless music with fat basslines allowing nobody to stand for a moment. The crowd replied back by dancing it all night and not giving up.

Due to some technical problems, music started at around 7:30. What a groovy opening set by Scatter and Alien Audience. Was only able to hear it in breaks as I had to be in the front gate but loved whatever I heard. It was so great to hear one my current fav track - Total Control by Braincell. Made me smile like a mad-man. Heard first half of Collison set and loved it. Had to miss Aktif and Ooze set as I had to help Ctrl+Alt+Del freshen up.

Facehead - WOW! Have heard him before but this one was extra special. Not dark and edgy as I was expecting but completely groovy with that extra fat punch. Great set dude.

Konflux - Missed his set in Gemini last year (as I was sleeping.....haha...yes, I was sleeping). No was was going to miss this time and man, was I up for a treat. Pure organic sound. One of the best nighttime music I have heard. Danced my ass out.

Ctrl+Alt+Del - Needless to say but it was the best set of the party for me. Unrelenting power from start to end with tracks after tracks keeping up the tempo and natural full power progression. Great energy behind the decks like a mad-man. Forced everybody to dance extra hard to appreciate what he was throwing down. Loved his produced tracks at the beginning and end. Great stuff and looking forward to more tracks from you buddy. Always wanted to show the mid-west crowd how we do it back in India and boy did he IMPRESSED! Personally, I love it when DJs dont do too much effects on the CDjs and just let the tracks play as it is.

I was able to hear for 15 minutes each of Paradigm and Anand's set and loved it whatever I heard. Paradigm was spot on with his progressive tracks. Was amazed to see so many people dancing in the chill room. Anand with his Goa tunes, killer scenes!

Crowd
=====

OMFG!!! Atleast 250+ attendees and I have never seen so new faces before. But they were no newcomers in any sense. Both the rooms were packed from start to end. I was really surprised to see such a balanced numbers in both the rooms. Guess people just loved music in both the rooms and I believe there was something for everybody throughout the night. Everybody showed their most respect for the venue. Great to see everybody being so responsible. Three cheers to you!

Did I mention about the energy shown by everybody? Man, WOW! Dancefloor was packed from start to end. AMAZING - that is all I have to say. Bunch of my friends from University and came for their first psy party and when they left - WOW was just the word on their lips.

Great props to Abe, Nick, Chris to get this party down. I am so proud that I have been with associated with such a great group. Love you all. Was great seeing you all. Geal, Scatter, Anita, Nate, Mosser, Katie, Jessica, Naveen, Anand, Blake, Mallory, Rachel, Jillian, Rick, Airyck, Trevor, Facehead, Konflux, Scott, Igor, Ravuah, Vishaal, Jason, Josh, Amanda, Uday, Arvind, Delna, Liza, Leo and many many many many more!

All in all.....another satisfying weekend! Love you all...

BTW, Facehead - you are awesome. It was so great to see a headliner helping out in cleaning and as Ascension said, its only in our psy scene that you will see this thing happeneing. Props to you brother.           Discover.Vote.Share() - http://www.beamto.us

what a awsome party. The music was fantastic all night long, the dancefloor was raging all night long, and the vibe was as thick as it could be.

Very stellar and professional event by MOP, their best yet for sure. There were a few technical glitches along the way, but nothing that really stood in the way of the good times.

Facehead played some of the best high bpm psy ive heard.

Konflux, you music has developed treamendously. Such thick good music. Night time stuff with out being dark. Sure hop you get more exposure, you deserve it.

Crtl Alt Dlt, was amazing. One of the best full on lives ive seen in quite a long long time. Great energetic stomping music with power and uplifting energies, but not really melodic. Perfect twilight stuff.

All in all a great effort

WOW! I knew this one was goin to be amazing based on the verbal support and energy we were receiving from people, but WHO COULDA SEEN THIS COMING!?

1st off, ATTENDANCE

We definitely saw at least 250 through the door, not counting people that came early to set up and help out. What was so awesome, is the amount of NEW FACES we saw. Ritesh said that no one was a "dance floor noobie," meaning that even the NEW FACES stuck around til the bitter end, stomping their hearts out! So many college kids came out, got sucked in, and were pro-stompers by the end of the night.

As for out of state attendance, i was very pleased... although we were obviously missing some very essential, very energetic people from the more mature side of the scene. Missed Robyo, Damon, Pauldo, Jeff Benner, Roboto, and others... its alright though, because the next one at this place will be EVEN BETTER, just you wait!

2nd off, MUSIC

WOW WOW WOW, all sets went well beyond my expectations, even more so for the out-of-state sets! Trevor and Scatter flowed very well together, bringing goa-like melodies on top of energetic, groovy beats. Very good to get the vibe going, even with the half hour delay, perfect track selection to pull people in to the trance! Chris and Nick threw it down as usual, glad to see my boys still investing lots of time into planning and practicing their sets, and executing on point! The Ooze gets better everytime, im not sure how it is since they arent constantly presenting new material, but the way they introduce their sets, arrange their tracks, execute the mixes, and get the crowd into it, is unbelievable everytime. The name fits the act, you guys are truly PRIMORDIAL OOZE! Facehead blew me away, had NO IDEA he was busting out high BPM stuff! expected slower, more crunchy stuff, but got fast, high energy, super crunchy electronica! Konflux was great, hadnt heard him before, so it was awesome to hear him lay it down. Deep, Deep bass, and some bass lines were broken up which was a nice change of pace. Felt dark, but friendly, even proggy at some points, which was awesome! CTRL+ALT+DEL, OH MY LORD. This man is an INDIAN MASTER! It was like a dark wizard casting spells and sending energy out every extremity of his body. What a great experience, what a great artist, what a great performer! We have GOT to bring him back! BOOM!

Gnomes of Destruction: very pretty stuff guys, very melodic, groovy, bass heavy progressive. I expected more destructive type music, but im glad you went with what you did because you got that crowd moving! At points, we had both stages packed with dancers! CyberShaman also laid down an extra special set, his last for a while at MOP events since hes moving to CA, and it was thick and juicy with breakbeat BASS. PSI FU tore it up, did not expect that quality of mixing for his first time out here! Paradigm had excellent track selection, and people were dancing pretty consistently throughout his set. Anand did a great job of mellowing out the crowd with great, spiritual-inducing ambient / downtempo tracks. bTsunami also has a really cool style, I can feel his prog trance influences through his music, very awesome stuff.

3rdly, Miscellaneous

Setup was amazing, a collaboration of so many people from Iowa and out-of-state! People coming together to create string art, hang rain drops, stack speakers, hang tapestries, create altars, etc.! Special thanks to Derrik and Carli for providing so much extra black light, and for creating that magnificent, detailed altar in the chill room! Awesome!
Clean up went amazing, from what I hear, so many people helped clean! Thanks to everyone for sticking around til the end and making things go quickly

We will surely keep it Goan folks, so thank you for your support, and please keep bringing your awesome energies to Iowa!

BOOM!

What an experience:)

Hats off to the Orgs for throwing a beautiful gathering..you have something special in iowa and you are lucky to have it..The vibe was a little bit off during this one..maybe due to some new people who were there for the first time but the regular's presence made it up for me..

I was spending more time catching up with people rather than being plastered on the floor as I realize that the people are as much or more important than the music..

It was nice to see Ritesh,Uday,Blake, Abe,Arvind, Ben, Chris, Nick, Mallory, Courtney, Rachel, Lynda, Mike, andy, ben, Adam, Anita and all the others..sorry if I am missing any names..Tongue

the night started off beautifully with some nice trold tracks played by Alien Audience..

Facehead is a great performer ..he was intense but amazingly addictive..at times I thought this guy is getting harsh ..yet I could not get myself to leave the dancefloor..great performance..calm presence on the stage yet the music was anything but....Smiley

Konflux played some funky dark if I may call his music as such..refreshingly different..the crowd was definitely eating it up..

The chill room was surprisingly packed throughout the night..toki played some gr8 tracks as usual and I was surprised to see Anita spin for the first time..Smiley

I was kinda off balance during the later part of this gathering because of some brain lag from intense experiences..but it was a learning experience and thats what important..Smiley I ended up playing for longer than expected.. 2 hrs instead of one..and Psi Fu rescued me a couple of times during that stretch ..thanks man!!

I played tracks that I felt would make a nice transition from night to morning with some spiritual chill moments thrown in between..played a lot of Sphongle and Goa and was pleasantly surprised to see the intense reaction to a couple of tracks that are my favorites..Hope that everyone who was listening went through the same positive learning experience as myself.

The news about Abe definitely put a damper on my spirits at the end of the party..and I found myself pulling back..me and anusha packed up our things and left during airyck's set..Thanks to Uday and Ritesh for being such gracious hosts and hope that you guys continue to have these gatherings for a long time..Smiley           You may think you can fly..but you better not try :)

Wow this party was so insane and my thoughts are still so scattered trying to piece everything together that I am just now getting to my review! ok, so here we go. WHEW! This party was in many ways out of this world. Its really hard to know where to begin... planning the show we had planned on going all out, trying to use our best resources to make all aspects in max potential, and it really paid off! People got there on time, and almost all of the MOP crew came and helped immensely from beginning to end. People only needed a little delegation and for the most part everyone did their own thing which ended up aligning together perfectly. Tapestries were amazing - our usual setup combined with Cliff's amazing hand painted work, which was a highlight of the visual atmosphere that night Smiley I also cant forget about the string art... perfect. It was like clouds everywhere and because we had so much blacklight everything lit up beautifully. It looked as if it where clouds above almost, and combined with the uv raindrops hanging down it made it look perfect in addition to everything else. What a setup for only 3 1/2 hours (sorry to Scatter, we much apologize for starting late). Thanks to everyone that helped so much, there are too many to name everyone Smiley Oh and sound, wow, thanks to Matt as ended up working very well, and I really appreciate you hanging around this time. I could tell you were enjoying yourself Smiley and to Lynda and Stevo for working concessions in the beginning. That was very appreciated.

The vibe was amazing for the most part. the main stage boomed like no other, and the smiles ran rampant throughout the dancefloor. I met many new people that immediately got into it, trance veteran or no. People seemed very pleased and the energy showed that. And the music and vibes of the artists only increased that. the sets were all around perfect despite the pitch bends forward and backward on the cdj's, which Rich described to me as too much power in one circuit which we will fix for the next time as this happened at 3rd eye as well. also, we will try and fix the 2ndary room to have pioneers next time Paradigm Smiley

I wasnt able to make it in the chill room as much like normal, but i heard it was amazing.. I was on the mainstage a whole lot though, and everyone was great. Mindoutpsyde and Scatter did their thing to start out started it right. Facehead, Konflux and Ctrl:alt:del were out of this world: Perfect flow, amazing energy and fit everything so well. I think this was one of my favorite combos of artists we've had, and I think the dancefloor agreed to. These artists have some SERIOUS TALENT AND GOOD VIBES. the morning was great as well with Paradigm and Airyck laying it down nicely. Loads of people stayed, and the energy NEVER died throughout the whole night.. from beginning to end, people got down like squids in the ocean!

Thank you so much to all of the artists who come out and constantly show their support. Your work is very much appreciated.

The cleaning up part was way successful too, except for a couple minor things like paint on the floor from the hoola hoops and a toilet paper dispensor that was broken that someone needs to pay for. Many people helped, everything got done very quickly. I was impressed with the nearly 80 people on the morning dancefloor at the end too.. the pastor for the church service in the morning had to eventually kick everyone out hehe Smiley that guy looked startled by the amazing energy still flowing.. guess his church isnt used to that Smiley

This party also had some very sad and stressful things involved too though Sad It was the last major party for some really good friends and patrons of the shows, Liza, Ritesh and Kyle. Even 10 new involved people couldnt replace what they had carried to these shows. I hope all of you try your best to come back sometime and party once again. You all will be missed greatly.

Sorry about the afterhours issue, that wont happen in the future and I hope that people didnt have to drive far home that thought they had a place to stay. Soon we will have two locations to use for afties as some of MOP is getting a new house Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Thanks for understanding.

For the future we will have many surprises, so keep coming out and tell your friends. I am extremely happy with the new people that came and immediately got down... you all definitely need to come back. I even saw people that had been to our shows plenty of times, but had never previously danced just freak out all night this time Smiley Smiley.. hehe that brings a tear to my eye Smiley your energy is much appreciated, friends! It helps make Psyowa what it has become known throughout the land to be!
