MIND OVER MATTER
FRI 24TH TO SUN 26TH FEBRUARY 2006
The creators of TITS ON FIRE, Gi’iwa Productions & NutCase Productions, are working together with Dada Stream to bring you another installment of psychodelic madness. Set on 4400 acres of Aussie bush in the hinterland of Northern NSW, a fantastic playground will be setup to provide you with nothing less than 2 days of the most sensational stimuli supplied by some of the most talented visual and sonic artists on the planet. MIND OVER MATTER is set to blast us all into 2006.
HALTYA - LIVE - PELINPALA - DJ SET
Finland
Exogenic Records
Since the mid-nineties,Tommi Sirkiä has released 4 albums under the psychedelic trance projects Haltya, Pelinpala and Highpersonic Whomen. With new albums due from Pelinpala and Highpersonic Whomen in 2006, he’s going to have a bag full of new tricks for us. Tommi will be appearing live under the guise of Haltya as well as performing a DJ set as Pelinpala. The music is groovy and has elements of trance, breaks, funk and jazz, it blends in unconventional psytrance instruments like guitars & horns and is best described as Funky Forest Trance. Sunday morning is one that you will never forget!
Aside from Finland, Haltya have played live gigs in Israel, Russia, Austria, Romania and finally the first Australian show!!!!!
The name Haltya comes from the Finnish word for elf, or female spirit with wings.
SHARAKU - DJ SET
Japan
6 Dimension Soundz
Sharaku runs the 6 Dimension Soundz record label from his home at the base of Mt Fuji. The label acts as a second home for acts such as Texas Faggott and Squaremeat, as well as releasing the finest products of the Japanese outdoor psychedelic scene. He is responsible for running the Global DAT Mafia, who put together parties in the shadows of the great volcano several times a year. He will be showcasing his in-depth knowledge of the kichigai sound.
HIDEYO BLACKMOON - DJ SET
Japan
Hideyo Blackmoon is one of the primary visionaries behind the current underground music scene in Tokyo. As a DJ she brings her unique gift of pure positive energy to the trance floor with powerful sets of funky psychedelic trance that ooze originality and femininity. She has played festivals such as Burning Man, Solstice, Rainbow Serpent and Solipse.
Andrew Till - Melbourne
Psy-Harmonics / Cyan Music / Sub
Andrew Till began DJing in the late 80s fusing together many elements within the electronic musical genres ranging from techno, trance, ambient, electro, industrial, psychedelia through to noize weaving a vast aural spectrum of sound. He was also one of the pivotal forces behind the Melbourne techno / trance community from his involvement in setting up Melbourne’s first dedicated underground electronic label Psy-Harmonics in 1992 with Ollie Olsen. He rocks more parties across Australia than most could begin to count and has been a highlight for the thousands of outdoor party freaks since the early 90's.
Black Lung LIVE - Melbourne
Psy-Harmonics
DAVID THRUSSELL is perhaps best known as Australian electronic music's quietest over-achiever. As SNOG, or in other guises as SOMA (with Pieter Bourke of DEAD CAN DANCE) or BLACK LUNG, he has gained an international cult reputation for innovation in electronic/cinematic/sound-scapes and numerous releases have invaded electronic/alternative charts in the Germany, France and the U.S.A. An intensive touring schedule has included in recent times headline dates in New York, San Francisco and Rome, and the premier spot on "Le Musique des Ultimates" a three day festival of electronic and experimental music in France.

unfortunatly i found it to be pretty disapointig, nam shub was an arrogant prick, pushed over some guy in the midle of his set, and to think he was my favourite producer. haltya, hired goonz, odd harmonics sam i am and sharaku were the only ones i really thought were good and they pumped it so har the rest was more like hows and death metal then psy. there was a mud infested lake with no bridge inbetween camping and the party and we got roasted for bringing our own pa by an older crew and got called disrespectfull even tho it was only down low playing chilled beats. it just didnt have the rght vibs to it. |

yeah i thought the music would be beter, or rather i would enjoy it more, loads of people loved it and thats wicked but it just didnt do it for me unfortunatly, but yeah nam shub being arrogant didnt help and being called arogant yet again by reece really just wasnt wat i expected when i went to a doof, bt i guess not everyone can enjooy everything, ide still like to thank the makers for throwing it and all the partys involved. |

Hi global - didnt think i'd be postin here but a friend just told me about this posting of my "arrogance". haha.
thought i'd give my side of the story:
I'm playing a set - live - i have a microphone & baby sitting a laptop - i am trying to entertain ppl - or at least myself and i have this guy fucking all over me - on pills or sumthing telling me "he loves me" and hugging me every fucking 10 seconds - i told him to fuck off liek 5 times and that was it - i fucking kicked him in the chest and told him to fuck right off. that isnt arrogance - its utter frustration.
the guy came up later and said hi and said he actually enjoyed me kicking him!! haha....he seemed sweet - tho very wasted.
I'm sorry but when i am playin I kinda lose it, and dont like to be fucked with. I was'nt on coke or anything in fact - i was intoxicated by music and performing.
I at least hope U liked some of the tunes.
And yes - Black Lung was fucking KILLAH.. best set i've ever heard from him, and i've played with him a heap of times!!!
hope ya great and take kare
