Heh, in case you're looking for something less mainstream than Pavel's recommendations:
Amon Tobin and Plaid are both melodic and more energetic than standard ambient music, I'd also recommend Four Tet and Psilodump/er/uter. Ak Duck records (Israeli label) have some creative melodic electronica, and I'm not even starting with the loads of jungle/DnB that you can find that fits this definition.

autechre has some really nice melodic works. also you can find deep melodies in boards of canada.
