I heard this track playing from a car at a party last weekend but didn't find out what it was.
What I remember most was a clean electric guitar riff that sounded quite melancholic and sad, almost like an Opeth riff (if anyone knows them)
It was overlayed with powerful full-on techy squelches and honks.
Any ideas of what track this is would be greatly appreciated |

Just a wild guess, which is probably nowhere near! I was recently listening to Psytrain - After The Outside which has a bit of a guitar riff in it nearer the end. Although I'm not sure whether it would be described as melancholic.

The guitar in this has sections throughout the track, I don't remember vocals so I'm not sure if it's a remix or not. |

Nope, none of those.
Think of those anthemic honks from Cosma's People On Hold and add a bit of squelch and a more modern sound, far more full-on than Cosma though.
I remember saying to a friend "I DJ this stuff, if I hear it coming from cars at a party it just makes wonder why I haven't heard it already."
Frustrating.
