To all freaks out there...Am i alone in feeling that the scene has changed?I do not wish to complain because it has cossed my mind that it me who has changed after 10 yers of psychedelicious dancing around the beaches and mountains of our planet earth.Perhaps i am the one bored with it all and the parties are still rockin and the new geneation is out there having ..yes indeed ...a spiritual experience...Like i used to.I think its time to take a break for me maybe create some tunes quietly away from it all Boom           "Do what thou willt shall be the whole of the law Love is the law love under will"Aliester Crowley

everything changes, you get older, and will notice more and more young people around you (this doesn't have to be a bad thing). friends that you used to see at parties all the time choose for other priorities over partying... after a while you alianate from the partycrowd at the parties where you used to know everybody....

for the new generation it's all new, fresh and amazing... to those who've partied a bit longer the WOW-effect is much harder to achieve.. (certainly if you've partied on those paradise beaches and in those forests in all those beautifull countries)

have things really changed that much? (disregarding our background, age and perspective we watch things from) I see young people doing the same things my friends where some years ago, sometimes better, sometimes worse...

i'm only talking about what i noticed after 5 years of partying... and i can say i had a ****** good time! if it ends here, that's up to you... but they'll go on
I do suggest you come back to take a peek after a while, i'm quite sure that once you've been "away" for a period of time, you'll be pleasently suprised when you re-visit a party near you.

I do like one thing about your post: compared to some others in here, you're not complaining about it all... like a lot of people are... it's pointless... and only drags the happy happy joy joy level of this forum way down. thanks!           www.psytracks.com :: Brand new website for sharing your psytracks with the world. It's both factors
Us - We've changed and it's harder for us to get excited. We have much more knowledge and experience, therefore we have more expectations and more critics.
The scene - has become more commercial. I guess it's a part of evolution.           Majority is never right!

what if the concept of realizing changes or maybe it has already changed?           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

The more things change - the more they stay the same.

You can see some of the young enthusiasts going totally wild, eating up the atmosphere (and sometimes not only that), each party being a revelation of sound and tribal rituals... the joy of discovering a brave new world. But just like brave new worlds tend to be - it's different to be in one than to learn it. A concept that's beautiful to be discovered changes into yet another fact after enough time - just like theory of relativity... to first understand it is a true revelation, while when you dig deeper than that, in the end it becomes a bunch of formulas... just like Albert Einstein's quote about his intuition leading to the discovery of that theory being musical in nature - it works both ways.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

The more things change, the more interesting they become...
Scenes, life, people, society, ourselves... Everything is like a river: seems to be the same, but is always changing...

...
A generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains for ever.
The sun rises and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises.
The wind blows to the south, and goes round to the north; round and round goes the wind, and on its circuits the wind returns.
All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full; to the place where the streams flow, there they flow again.
All things are full of weariness; a man cannot utter it; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; and there is nothing new under the sun.

Andras brought up a very good point by noticing personal change. I've been thinking a lot about that lately... Kaz also had a point by saying that the more the things change - the more they stay the same. My 2 centavos: to me it works like this...

I've noticed all these inner/outer changes and every time i "hit" on this key I'M NOT HAVING FUN! This is my deal... I cant evaluate and think too much about the so called scence like I think about a book or a story. This is one of the reasons i've been away for a while. I've realized that psytrance is not to be thought about, it's to be lived whenever you feel like living it; furthermore, i feel like loving trance in the same proportion as I cease to think about it and evaluate it.

Next year i'm definately going to boom festival and one thing that I will not do is think about reasons to go because I know it will cool down my spirit, if you know what i mean... There will be a lot of cons, especially because i'm going to spend lots of $$$ that could be spend in other things, such as gear for my studio, etc... (see, i just did it! shouldnt have...) This is my point.

On the other hand, lately i've been dedicating a lot of time to the psy-world, in several ways... and I feel happier, like if I have re-lighted the fun. But I used to feel the same way you do...

Actually, the scene today is too... argh! never mind...           cna't find it

If you change as fast as the moment, the moment never changes..
