Mind telling me what Yohannes has mastered? I'm curious because I didn't know he did mastering. His album was mastered by 3.Turn FYI.

Exept for personal taste and knowledge. What makes a good album when it comes to mastering? What are you guys basing your answers on? Let's take 3 Artists that imo are great at mastering.

1. Ott - Old timer, has a lot of experience, knows what he's doing to produce fat base sounds.

2. Erez Aizen. The wiz kid. His mastering can make plastic shy.

3. Psykovsky - Knows how to master an album so it will become deep and trippy.

So is there a "correct" answer?

Because of above you have Quality, plastic and trippy. imo

Ott doesn't do mastering... and an album won't become 'deep and trippy' just through the mastering.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

What's the difference between editing and mastering?

"Are You Shpongled?" is edited and compiled by Ott and mastered by Dave           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

Editing and compiling is selecting which bits of audio you want to use and making a CD out of them. Although it traditionally includes editing and compiling, mastering is generally understood to mean processing the audio so that it is tonally consistent throughout the album and sounds as good as possible on as wide a range of sound systems as possible.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering
