Yeah baba im aware of these places since i have been in chandra tal last time...although not all the places have been seen, im thinking of getting at baralacha pass and suraj tal..just hope rohtang pass is not closed in october...or what if i cross rohtang and then it snows ?? i'll be stuck, so really need to plan this out at precision and that will be done after i reach manali.

Some pics of baralacha and chandertal >>

I do not know about this year. But I typically go to Manali around end sep early oct and the weather varies wildly. Mostly I need a heavy jacket in the evenings while a windcheater would do good during the day time with regular clothes. Around this time it can be anything between a cool day to freezing cold nights. If it rains, then nights do get very cold. Typically the weather can be like what it is during cold months in delhi, but mostly at some point during every one of my trips to manali around end sep/early oct i ended up wearing at least as much warm clothes as i do during the coldest nights in delhi.

If you are planning to visit manali around this time, I would recommend pack extra warm clothes. An extra set of sweaters, a light windcheater a heavy jacket and at least 2-3 pairs of wollen socks should keep you warm. And make sure that the warm clothes are really warm. You do not want to have your trip ruined by cold weather.

Nothing really going on up here, laid back and relaxed life. Old Manali has is retiring for the winter, few people still around, but i guess most are starting to move south soon. Its pretty cold already at the night time. Boom.
