Not really sure actually. I've installed and reinstalled a few things a couple different times due to Novation's lame Automap software and had to rescan the system each time. The SW Voice Controller is still problematic. Once I get that one straightened out, I'll be super happy.

I'm on OS X 10.6 if that makes any difference.

im sure if they sort out internal midi mapping in maschine then this would be a lot easier to get working, but you sure they show up in maschine as vsti's
and not fx's

but as i said to pom , ive got a work around thats letting me send midi from maschine to the plug then to the modular and can still use the modulation plugs in maschine so im happy as can be at the moment
actually might be better cos in presonus you can record midi straight from mashine as you play it dont know if its the sasme for other daws,

btw i will check more in details but reaktor have some ensemble for generating modulation to use with a modular , it s possible to make some wihtout much trouble too (just using lfo, step sequencer ect..)but it will be probably more stepped than with the resolution of silentway stuff i think.

but it make me think with reaktor modular environement there is probably some great patchs ensemble to make..

ok so i was naughty and downloaded a "version " of silent way and now it seems that 2.1 loads still as an effect but can recieve midi in maschine. problem solved,

still waiting for my dsub cable so i can only run the plugs and see if they work, havent had any hardware on the other end

but its looking promising

In a very stoned moment (always stoned though), I realized that I was using the FX and AU versions of the SW Trigger. I am still not having any luck with the SW Voice Controller though. Maybe I should take a go at it without being stoned...

i think its maschine thats the bug in this equation

you cant have any routing of midi in maschine

in fact the whole lack of midi in maschine i find baffling

follow up on this when i get the dsub cable

The first slot in the SOUND and GROUP sections receive internal MIDI from within Maschine I thought.           Analog/Digital Synth Modules www.toppobrillo.com

yeah but if the plug aint a vsti it doenst have an midi input...no?

if you run a vst like lush your stuck to the channel it on and cant route it to the other channels in lush, so im not sure if its really midi or "schmidi"

I figured it out.

- Open a new project.
- For Group A, click on SOUND which should default to Sound 1.
- Click on the first of the four PLUGIN slots and assign MIDI Out as the plugin.
- Click on GROUP.
- Click on the first of the four PLUGIN slots and assign SW Voice Controller (VST) as the plugin.
- Create a sequence on the grid for Sound 1 (MIDI Out) and hit PLAY.

I haven't tested it on the modular yet but by watching the levels for the Master Channel I can see changes in the volume and a gate signal.

I wasn't able to figure out how to use the calibration routine inside of Maschine though. Luckily the SW Voice Controller allows for saving of the calibration file so my plan is to calibrate all of my VCOs at various octave tunings within Live then I can just load those files into Maschine as needed.

I'm purging a lot of my VCOs and switching to Tiptop Z3000 mkIIs so re-tuning and calibration settings should be fairly easy to set up on the fly.           Analog/Digital Synth Modules www.toppobrillo.com

can t find any dpo demos that are not about crazy sounds

would love to hear it used in a more traditional way.

i was sold on the rubicon but the dpo offer good bang for the buck but as i can t try before buy.. from the demo the rubicon seems to sound more musical to me , organic/analog a bit more vintage maybe, hard to describe with words..

what do you think about the sound of these vcos guys? not the features but just in term of sound?

the anwser is probably one can t go wrong with any or get both but i won t have the cash ...

One of the big issues with modulars is that no one uses them in a traditional way. It's really, really difficult to get an idea of what a module sounds like. Most of the time, the demos are noise, noise, and more noise. The attitude is starting to change slightly as the format grows and attracts more "musician" types.           Analog/Digital Synth Modules www.toppobrillo.com

hang on pom,

im getting maths this week so ill do some audio for you
was getting some sweet kicks from the sine wave
but need a proper env to get a thud
but trust me bud the dpo IS the vintage oscillator, does all the normal stuff except PWM, but the square wave is fatter than the phatty by far,

Once youve got used to its foibles i would say that this is a seriously fat osc

but seeing that the dpo goes from nought to noisey in under a secfond its hard not to go there every time

And yes it does sound exactly like R2D2, which was done on an arp origionally i think
