Hello you all,
I'm planning to go to a festival abroad this year and I have heard some good things about the japannese *magic*
Can anyone give me some info on a festival which is going to take place in japan?

Well I am not sure of this year yet, but I think there is going to be a
Solstice Outdoor party with the usual TIP crew.
Vision Quest with the German Tech crew(delta, xdream, midimilliz), Shaffel team.
There should be a outdoor party held by RUSS of this forum called MINDGAMES. This is a very underground outdoor party with a lot of Proggresive and minimal artists. Antix, Bitmonx etc..
Arcadia maybe should be making one with the 3D vision crew.
Then you have Trance Proggresion and G-moloch doing collaboration outdoor party. I think they are bringin many killer artists(PPS, Hujaboy, Lish, Sub 6, Sesto Sento, etc..) not sure yet though.
Thats about all i know. |

... Yeah... I need to find a 'definitive' list of parties for the summer in Japan... dates, places, acts etc.... and as promoters have to book (big) artists quite well in advance... then I was hoping that this information would be available already.!!!
...what websites (Nihongo O.k) can u reccomend Hikari (if any).. that will give me this kind of information?

Hi krakho how are you doing.
Well there are twp points that we are trying to cover:
1- Bringing new artists
2- Pushing the ones that we are working with for many years.
This year we have all ready confirmed two new lives that we have not worked with last year one is bambooforest and the second one you will see coming on the website in the end of may.
The definition of new and promising artists is some thing that is taken by each person’s taste of music, for us as a promoter we need to look into the smaller details like the future of the artists and his musical evolution.
Maybe we are wrong but I think that we are always bringing new blood, don’t forget that we where one of the first to bring the GOA sound to japan.
From last year we have added artists like:
Exaile
Abasrtacture
Bambooforest
Noosphere
Hujaboy
Astrix
Juvenile (this march with visionquest)
The main revolution that happened to trance in the last few years is the move to creation in the computer more then real studio work, which always young artists to find the way without dealing with the money and logistics that artists had to fight before.
Most of the artists that we are working with today the big ones like
x-dream, delta, Gms, infected are holding their reputation for top quality production they hold the talent and the knowledge from years before.
We have encountered a massive movement of new artists, we are more then happy and hoping to see the next generation making the lip into the trance world and finding there place among the others.
We are always looking for new sound and talent, if you have any other suggestions please feel free to replay us.

Good point krakho. none of the artists in the Gathering lineup are new...however, VQ does have the money to put on an awesome outdoor show. The sound is amazing and artists are top-notch. VQ, any chance of Hujaboy at the Gathering??
I can't wait for the Trance Progression/G-moloch!! Please let us know the date for that Hikari.
NeutroN/ MaNjEr: VQ and Trance Progression/G-moloch are sure to be killers! solstice and arcadia are too big and slightly cheesy IMO. |

I'll keep an eye for these two festivals, is their already a confirmed date for them?
I'm really interested in the japanese scene, I've heard from people that it is a great vibe and the people are very warm.

ok... we look first at point one ... new artists..!
I look at every party u post on this forum I can find from 'Gathering2002' - 'Gathering2003'...I include all lists at bottom of this post for everyone to see themself.....(sorry it is long post for this)
You say u never work with BambooForrest ... but they are write down as play in your Feb 27th party and your Nov 16th party... did they cancel both and not play.... or did u just 'forget'... I dont know but if they cancel and not play for you before... i am wrong - excuse me.. but as for 'New Artists' like you say....... who in the list below is 'New' (eg.. do not have CD release... or maybe release just 2-3 track??) - all your artists are 'established' = have fan base= people to 'buy' ticket to see the artist= money for you!

look at the list below of 1 year of parties... and 95-98% of all artists are the same..
.......Why dont you 'take risk'' and do a party with artisit no one ever hear of before? Do you not have confidence? Do you not support the 'new wave' of artists that are born in the bedroom now like you say.. "We have encountered a massive movement of new artists, we are more then happy and hoping to see the next generation making the lip into the trance world and finding there place among the others". ....... where are the new bedroom artists?.... not play VisionQuest parties is for sure!
.....all this 'stuff' from you....yes I know u help start the scene in japan long time ago...but maybe you start to end the scene aswell (you bring the Yakuza in to the Trance scene there (everybody know about this)...
so please VisionQuest..... start doing like you always talking... or just stop doing... but dont think we all stupid and believe your 'ego stuff' ....

Back to the issue that was the original post...in my opinion having gone to the arcadia, solstice, and VQ outdoor parties for the last 3 years, the Gathering is by far the best of these 3 parties..not only is the music better but the vidbe as well. So to all the people wanting to go to a Japanese big outdoor party go to the Gathering. |

This thread is going off topic! Please try to focus on the first topic, or start a new thread.
As for outdoor parties good luck to visionquest again this year. I am a great supporter of visionquest but some parts of me do agree with krahko. Well good luck guys!

As I've said before, Japan is lucky to have all kinds of parties big and small, commercial and underground, futuristic and hippie.... The beauty is there is a CHOICE and you can vote for your favorite style of party with your attendance and your hard-earned yen.
As for planning, I agree it would be nice to have the info as soon as possible.
Last year, I believe Solstice was the 3rd weekend in July and Arcadia was sometime in August. |

in june also we do killer outdoor party,in june with
zma records and neurobiotic records!@ doshinomura!
the days i forget is some about 6 to 7,or 6 to 8 of june!
verry good party!and much more good to ppl need see
