Nepal is the only Hindu kingdom in the world and thus the land of Lord Shiva, Destroyer of Evil, for here you can feel his presence everywhere.
Shiva Ratri ' the night consecrated to Shiva'.
This auspicious festival falls on the fourteenth day of the waning moon in the month of Falgun, (February - March in the Gregorian calendar ).
The day when Smoking marijuana is legal all over Nepal.
Veneu: Chitwan Rojahar, next to Chitwan National partk and on the bank of Narayani river.3.5 hrs to 4 hrs drive from kathmandu, 2.5 hrs drive from sunauli (Nepal/India boader).

Travel: buses will be running from thamel kathmadu (Tantra bar) every hour from morning 10 till 6 Pm in the evening on 16th of feb. Buses will be back to kathmandu after the party 5pm on wards on 18th of feb. For those who are traveling on their own please contact venue coorditator for the map.

Man! This Maha Shivratri is getting to be craziest of all..... we have a 2 day stomper with Killer line up being held in Karnataka & we have a FESTIVAL with more than Killer line up so far & that too in Nepal, so we got choices....
All the best while i wander which one to choose.......

But i must say it is a fucking shame that this party is so close to the MetaForce party. I feel this one ought to be postponed or advanced. The MetaForce party was announced earlier. Mr. Aseem kindly do something about it. |

this will create meyhem in mahashivratri..i wonder which will be the best way to pay homage to shiva....both the places gonna give amazing vibe..but nepal leads with its lineup..
these artists gonna rock for sure..but i guess i will have to stuck up with the indian way cozz of cash probs..
and the conceptof legalizing of marijuana that day seems very funny and at the same time confusing..
plzz dont crib your minds much on this but i really wonder the motive of govt of legalizing it,is that for paying respect to shiva,so if that is then y dont they allow us to please shiva everyday,
i dont have any other clue for that law??

Sad to know that we have festival on the same day but Shiva Ratri is very big here in nepal, thousands of sadhus are only seen on this day. after that they disappear. Please google for some shiva ratri pictures of nepal.

mahashivraatri in Nepal is very big but also very different than what goes on in India. This is the reason why this party was timed to co-incide with the festival....
the reasons are many why shivraatri is big here but i'll outline some:
nepal is a tantric country and its religions are influenced through that element. the carvings, the motifs, the ceremonies held here all signify that is Shiva is the most adored god here and his manifestations like kaal bhairava, aakash bhairava are all worshipped in nepal. in fact, all of shiva's 1008 names mentioned in sanskrit literature are mentioned here....another misconception we have about shiva is that he/she is a hindu god. Though he is the most powerful in the Hindu pantheon, he is not Hindu by nature. He is everything that a person wants to be but can never be.
Nepal is steeped in Shaivanism (the worship of Shiva)
"One of the interesting aspects of Shiva Ratri is that on this day devotees and non-devotees alike freely indulge in smoking intoxicating substances such as marijuana and bhang for it is the only day in the annual calendar when marijuana is legal. Many people take these intoxicants in the belief that it pleases Lord Shiva for he too is said to be fond of it. Thus marijuana is taken as prasad, holy food blessed by the Gods and one can see eager tourists and faithful Nepalese flocking around the temple complex of the Ram Janaki Mandir across the Bagmati river opposite to the main temple complex of Pashupatinath lingering around sadhus and babas in the hope for some prasad from them."
besides this, all the energy centres in Nepal, especially in Kathmandu evolve around the manifestations of Shiva
So if there can't be a fullpowerrrrr psytrance party in Nepal during Shivraatri, when else?????
