How many use mac or pc?

I find that in most of the help sections's posts there are many screenshots of PC based programs, eg sony sound forge, cubace.. etc.

I'm a mac user myself running logic pro 8, any1 esle here use logic? I only started using it about 2 weeks ago and would apriciate any advice people can give me on getting vst files or new synth plugins for logic pro 8, so far i have only made film with my mac not music, but i been listening to psy for years and would love to make some, im not asking for the formula or anything like that, just some advice on where to get plugins and how to instal them on a mac using tiger OSX operating system. Cheers, great forum by the way

You should search for Audio Unit plugs...cause logic 8 does not accept Vst and Vsti..

some plugs you can find here..

http://www.kvraudio.com/

http://www.dontcrack.com/

then as soon as you got some plugins...usualy just install them as any other program...they will be set into the right folder..

otherwise..if you just get the .component file...go to library...audio..plugins....components!!

then you`l be fine...

good luck...          -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

Cubasing is like Freebasing, just with audio.
Both cost more than you can afford, and leaves you sitting in a dark room with no life, craving for more.

I believe you can get VST wrappers that let you run VST plugins inside Logic.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

yeap...I think pluggo works like that for example           https://soundcloud.com/hazak

"Hmm, yeah... All the time, man - it's called mescaline. The only way to fly!"

Ok..thats true...you can get some dedicated vst to work in logic with this pluggo runtime or cycling 74...but just a few...and i if you run vst with this other one:vst to au wrapper it takes heaps of performance...so usualy you can get any vst as an AU and if not there is similar stuff out there as an AU....i wouldn`t recommend to run big synths over this vst to au wrapper tho..
but for specific things like small fx plugs that are not published as an AU it might work good..haven`t tried it yet..

but what makes me sad is,that i got the major malfunction plug...and its an vst...and runs in logic with this pluggo runtime expansion...but it does not work in cubase 4...

looool

but i hope this will change in future...
