well, things are growing here at LSD nicely. With Youth in Dub finally here! Its taken a long time to get done due to artwork and poetry booklet - things are looking busy for 2004.

First up is Wider Horizons Vol.1 featuring OTT, Vibrapshere, Vatos Locos, Nada, Youth, Abakus and Pitch Black. You`ll like this one i think.

Then is the Abakus Album. Am amazing piece of work that is having its finishing touches put to it at the moment. A stuning debut album with influences from downbeat psychedelia, blues, electronica, dub, warpish beats and touching melodies it is something worth waiting for.

After that - new compilation which is in progress. Also, Youth in Dub pt2 which has formed out of his tour to Japan in December and a Nada album..... Enough to keep the ears dancing.

LSD should be out and about next year too, in Japan, Mexico, West Coast America and Europe. Live acts and Dj`s with in LSD collective Vj`s. Kumba Mela DVD and other stuff !!!!!!

Anyway. Keep your eyes peeled for these tracks and catch some of them when i`m out and about. here are my winter tunes...
---------------------------------------------------
01: Youth and Pete Lazonby - Life Song - (LSD)

Reminisncent of the early Orb days and Lemon Jelly. A modern day classic.
---------------------------------------------------
02: Abakus - B (LSD)

A tune from the new album. To be released as a 12" early next year. 130 bpm slick psychedelic dubby breaks tune.
---------------------------------------------------
03: Dub Trees - Elf (LSD)

First new Dub Trees tune for a while and something that conjures up the orbital early days with Tolkein talking sample.
---------------------------------------------------
04: United States of Love - Tiger Moon (Vatos Locos remix) (LSD)

Off the next LSD cd early next year. So happy to have Vatos on Board. very cool remix. has me bobbing up and down no end!!
---------------------------------------------------
05: Umberloid - Exit Chapel Perilous (LSD)

Only on my computer, but very good dub from Ott and Barker. one done again you stars`!!!!
---------------------------------------------------
06: Adham Shaikh - Dub I Chill (??)

One of the stars for me at Samothraki - grab what you can by this artist. A midas touch for sure...
---------------------------------------------------
07: Vatos Locos - Sofa Sonic (??)

An old vatos Kicked back tune. How low can you go into the sofa !!
---------------------------------------------------
08: L`usine - Spacecake (??)

Love this glitch / warp artist. wish i felt i could play more of this style out. sometimes clears the room. Beautiful rhythms and music in amongst the mayhem. check all his music if you`re that way inclined.
---------------------------------------------------
09: Nada - Manakhana (Youth remix) (LSD)

What more can i say !
---------------------------------------------------
10: String Cheese Incident - Mountain Girl (??)

A group from the Jam Band scene on the West Coast America. a great track from their new album. you might like the album, might hate it. i love it !!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------

No, not George Barker. This is from an Ott interview on psyreviews.com:-

"..Chris Barker [aka. Warwick Bassmonkey – played bass on "Solstice" on "Hallucinogen in Dub" - a bloody magnificent bass player and all round musician whom I have been writing with under the name "Umberloid" – tracks out soon on LSD/Dragonfly and Interchill..]"

Soundz interesting and I'm sorry for the mistake..

Traveller, G. Barker was co-owner of Flying Rhino Records, involved in Slinky Wizard, Binah, Death Snare Pussies, and I think more projects...

If only it was, then I'd be famous already. Still, George is an improvement on Charlie, I suppose.

Daz = Daz = Billy The Kid. A completely separate bass playing entity from what I can gather. From the back of my Blumenkraft CD...

Daz plays bass on "Jack's Cheese and Bread Snack" and "Billy the kid Strikes Back."
Daz plays loads of synths on "Billy the kid Strikes Back."
Daz plays guitar on " A Load Up At Nunney Catch."

Also plays bass on the fabulous LSD "World Sheet of Closed String" mix on Hallucinogen in Dub.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, also plays bass on "Ott meets Billy The Kid" on the Elucidations comp. (LSD)

The only track I can find with the Warwick Bassmonkey on is the Solstice track on Hallucinogen in Dub. (And presumably the forthcoming Umberloid stuff?)

It's great to see some real bass around.

my copy of blumenkraft doesn't have a backcover but i did recall ott telling me that daz did loads of stuff on it..

also "billy the kid strikes back" written by ott & daz, right?

my copy of "hallucinogen in dub" is most likely in my dad's car.. so can't talk about it..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."
