what is the best lounge/chill music?

smooth (not very glitchy) and not-so-psychedelic...

I want stuff that you can play in cafes or for 'normal' people without freaking them out...

I know Etnica.net was trying to make music of this genre, but haven't heard it.

I'm looking for only the TOPS - CDs with all or almost all great tracks.. can't afford the time/money to track down "ok" cds.

Greets

Check out the "Om Lounge" Series-- top-notch retro-flavored chillage.

Also the usual loungy greats: Thievery Corporation, Kruder and Dorfmeister.

Deep House is easy to digest too and usually has a loungy feel-- Naked Music Label, St. Germain, etc etc

Hi Brett,

For sure Kruder & Dorf are great; have you tried the Tosca CD's Delhi9 and Suzuki?? Nice downbeat smoothness...

I have the Etnicanet Macao Cafe 2 CD which is also nice... I consider myself to have a very psychedelic taste in chill/ambient music but these sounds also please my ears!!!

Happy lounge searching, maybe look under the sofa ?!?

(Chill Pill -- GroOvy Gravy Records)
SUPERB RECORD !! "Sambosa" by Jazzelicious is outstanding, really..

Then the Mashed Mellow GroOves serie @ Transient Records contains some jewels here and there also..

Enjoy !

Releases:
All Caf'e del-mar series
Erotic Lounge series (SONY)
Supperclub Presents Lounge

Artists:
Akmusique (probably the best chill-lounge)
Alex Cortiz (a bit more groovy)
Rue de soleil
Sven van Hees
Kruder & Dorfmeister
UnissaKavelija (soon to be released)

I play resident chillout evenings in a 'normal' caf'e/club, and my suggestion is to create fine balance between 'accessible' material to more 'sophisticated' one (such as Abakus, Cell, OTT or Backroom Beats material).

good luck,
A

Hi BrettFromTibet!

Many has mentioned the name Kruder & Dorfmeister .. And as you said, you dont want to dedicate your time and money on Ok tracks.. So I highly recomend Kruder & Dorfmeister's ultimate album.

Kruder & Dorfmeister - The K&D Sessions

http://www.discogs.com/release/75137

Nothing.. I mean nothing beats this cd when it comes to the fact that no one dislikes it. A shure winner!! *trust me* But i have a hunch you allready know of it?

PS. its a double disc album. 1 disc is the best but also most chilled. (My number one landing cd ) And disc 2 is slightly more upbeat cafe chill.
