If you want artists to send you music, please respect their work. Build relationships - trust. If you dont like their work fair enough, but dont throw the music into the matrix (read :internet)
Many of you are starting labels out there and firstly if you want musicians to send their work to you, be professional. "Hey I am starting a label, we're interested in hearing your traxx." or "I know lots of Dj's, they can play your stuff". This is nonsense. Build a website, promote wisely - be professional for crying out loud. If and when your receive Demo;s , listen to it, and dont keep ppl waiting for 2 months - its downright annoying. and lastly, dont ignore ppl.

My 2 cents for the day.

I am talking 100 % from personal + friend's experiences.

Its not very hard for artists to find out who traded their music.

oh and one more thing -

Artists learn to respect fellow artists as well!

Well, unfortunately you and many other people had to go through this Chaitu. It's an unfortunate aspect of growing things, like the current worldwide psy trance scene.

My 2 cents: ask around guys. Usually there's trustworthy ppl everywhere in the world. Takes some work, but eventually you (artists) can find people who have dealt with this or that label, and can give some valuable advice. It most surely would cut on the number of traders-cum-label-owners spreading around music in the net.

Anyways, it's one of the pains of growing up. Too bad someone has to get hurt.
And BOOM!

btw, when are we seeing the first purple passion releases?

WISE WORDS. I agree very much with you chaitu. So many labels so many dj`s in this world it is hard to know who to trust and who not to trust.
those that trade on the icq and internet ruin beautiful things for the artists and dj`s.
Give respect keep this scene alive.
Im lookin forward to purple passion too.

Thanks for the support guys.
Fortunately I've found a beautiful home with Trancelucent Productions and an amazing label manager - my m8 homsy.
my first release will be on a chill out comp in 2 months, and an album is in the works too.
Cheers.

btw look out for the new Trancelucent comp. in a few weeks (ROCKET!!)

This is almost right. But there are many other ppl, who damage the music, thus the artist cannot even have a try to get some credits for his/her work. As well as it is important to say that trance music, psychedelic trance music is not like any other style, like that we can see on MTV, TMF, etc, etc, etc... It cannot be promoted easily because the target group is rather small. And because of that, you have to be REALLY A WISE GUY, or a good promoter with some outstanding background to sell this music to a larger number of people, so musicians can be even more motivated. I'm sorry to say, but this cruel world is about money... =(

RESPECT to ALL!

purple, since you started this thread, I'll refer back to you.
I guess that you had a bad experience with someone, probably you suspect that he/she got some music from you and spread it over the net. that is one thing.
Another thing is to critisize the labels (of which you have no knowledge how each of them is operating) and their way of work.
Now, I'm new here, and I already see that there are many people that make music and try to promote it here. Its good, but patience and humility is also good. patience to let the music do its course, and humility to know your place and not jump ahead just because you got signed or something.
I'm sure many here would like to get their work published, but unless you actualy do the publishing work (aka label work), I suggest you lower your profile and concentrate on making the music (or opening your own label in your own vision).

Oki...fist off i havent read all of the replies her but im sure aware of what PURPLE PASSION talks about.....i made my first demo and sent it to alot of labels and i heard almost nothing, but i then find out later that the one of my tracks...this is perhaps one year later....."Distorted Frequencies" has been played on numerous parties + i've found some other unreleased tracks played by DJ's i've never heard about.

Strange how the somw tracks that are strictly sent to labels then wanders of into the crazy dat pirates hands.....no creds for the atrtist only the dj that playes those fat tunes...

RESPECT THE ARTIST AND THEIR WORK CAUSE WITH OUT US THEIR WOULD BE NOTHING TO PLAY!!!!

RESPECT TO:
Nephilim records
Candy Flip Records
Chakradelic CREW/records
Apoxina records
DJ Hiawata
Espark
Microdot
