From my point of view, the labels r releasing music what they like and in what they believe and this sometimes a certain sound, after like 3 cds from a label you can get a good view what to expect. Sometimes tha labels ask for special tracks from the artists, sometimes just select from finished ones. All the bigger and good, quality labels have certain sound.
My criteria is to pick up something fresh and creative and push the borders and forget the cliches.

i like to think that in every label there is a leading artist and from them you get either friends, or a fan of that artist who later make music and join the label....
Either way, Its kind of like having a crew of people saying the same thing...
Like a group of people on thier own story with the music, and i used to hate that, but now its quite cool...Because, now the scene really has its areas defined...Almost like gangs in a city, with there style and there mission...
I guess the day of everyone together is almost over, but instead of seeing it as a bad thing, i am seeing as a way of expressing your influences and individuality...
And you always notice the best one are the one who really love the music they came from, not just making it because that it what they need to do to succed....
