Dear friends,
From 1990 that we made the first free rave
parties and underground festivals until now there are existing commercial organizers and people with political-governmental or financial interests that they try to describe this parties/festivals as “second class”, as problematic and dangerous, as “destruction for the scene or for the universities or for the democratic asylum” and “not real parties”or "not real arts". The reason for this logic to appear again and again is obvious: there are a lot of money in the “club market” and somehow this market has to be protected as a myth and as a concept.There is also great power in the governing of culture and "art market" of this society and the conservatives don't want to loose control by just simply allowing the new to appear... For us this was never a problem (anyway this is very old story…and most of our old “enemies” that was spreading all this bad rumors are to their houses now…Rest in Peace…).
We appreciate and we observe the “club culture” ‘cause many people seem to like it, many beautiful nights happened in clubs also and “club culture”, "art centers", "galleries" e.t.c. can play a progressive role also according to their own limitations (bouzouki culture club owners that collect all our money for themselves making bullshit mountains with them, security macho staff, super ego party organizers, crap music and sound for 30euro, 10euro for a bottle of water, impossible to get drunk with you pocket money and freak out paranoia if you take any psychedelic substance…anyway…why not?...clubs have to continue existing also…if the people continue pay and enjoy...and sometimes is even good…!) .
But we know for good that the Underground Free Events is the real collective platform for the expression of arts and ideas, we know that all art scenes in the world is based on the underground free scene for existing, evolving , manifest and test new styles, new artists and new trends, we know for good that the underground scene will never finish and will become better and better in the future (as we know also that the underground is anyway the field that will appear all interesting trends which in the near future capitalism will use for making money again and again in “luxury” clubs and “high life” business).All these things they getting rotten anyway again and again in a society dead in apathy and general stupidity.
This is no problem…we know it from the 60’s until now…
The efforts of the underground has to be always to offer better artistic quality, new styles and much more beautiful atmosphere than the “commercial scene” and to manifest original force from the heart and not from the pocket for to gather thousands of people having great time, coming to the Utopian Atmosphere, getting new ideas and transform their selves according to their needs and wishes!
There are some things that we like and some things that we don’t like in the parties of Polutexnioupoli but we don’t want to play the role of the “old one” for to judge and criticize the efforts of the underground teems. We are sure that everyone tries his best to offer the best according to his aesthetic criterion and his powers (keep your good efforts alive!)
But we will use this opportunity to clarify some things we want in the future to exist and get better and some things we want to try all together to make them a bad memory for the underground events.
WHAT WE WANT:
1.
WE WANT GROUPS OF CREATIVE FRIENDS THAT THEY LOVE AND TRUST EACH OTHER, COMPANIES OF FRIENDS TO FIGHT AGAINST CAPITALISTIC COMPANIES WITH THE POWER OF THEIR DREAMS AND THEIR WISHES. WITH OUR SMALL POWERS WE ARE BUILDING UTOPIA! WE WANT THE PARTIES TO BE ORGANIZED BY ARTISTS AND FRIENDS AND NOT BY INVESTORS, WE WANT THE FESTIVALS TO BE ORGANIZED BY COMPANIES OF FRIENDS AND NOT BY MANAGERS, TO BE ORGANIZED FOR FUN AND NOT FOR MONEY, NOBODY TO GET PAID FOR TO PLAY OR FOR HELPING IN THE BAR OR FOR THE PRODUCTION OR FOR MAKING THE FLYER DESIGN OR FOR GIVING THE FLYERS AROUND. WE WANT TO SEE THE OPEN PARTICIPATORY ATTITUDE AND THE FREE OPEN DISTRIBUTION OF MYSPACE.COM TO APPEAR ALIVE IN SKIN AND BONES IN THE STREETS, THE SQUARES, THE UNIVERSITIES AND THE ABOUNDED URBAN BUILDINGS OF THE CITIES! WE WANT EVERYBODY THAT IS ORGANIZING THE EVENT TO COME THERE WITH EMPTY POCKETS AND GOING AWAY WITH EMPTY POCKETS (that’s how Void Network survived for all those years/that’s why we are still friends to each other/ that’s why we get better and better/WHEN WE HAVE ANY SMALL “PROFIT” FROM THE PARTY WE KEEP IT IN A GENERAL BOX AND WE SPEND IT TO THE NEXT EVENT SO WE BECOME BETTER AND BETTER…nobody gets paid cause all of it is based on completely different intention like pleasure, erotic love and friendship for example…or like the dream of a global revolution and liberation from the prison of modern metropolitan death culture!
It's simple and it works good! It is chaotic non employed/non profit economics/ It’s extra cool space out collective life! (AND THIS IS THE MOST POWERFUL EXPLOSIVES THAT THE UNDERGROUND IS HIDING NOW)
WE WANT ALSO THE PEOPLE HAVING THE ABILITY TO DO NOT BE VICTIMS AND UNDERSTAND WHAT IS UNDERGROUND AND WHAT IS NOT!

WE WANT THE PEOPLE TO SECURE THEIR OWN EXISTENCE THERE, TO GET THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR OWN ACTIONS AND TO PROTECT THE PLACE, THE AUTONOMOUS ZONE AND ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE THEIR OWN BEST FRIENDS. WE WANT TO SEE PURE LOVE, PEOPLE TO EXPRESS THEIR OPEN HEARTED LOVE TO EACH OTHER, TO SEE ALL PEOPLE HELPING CLEANING THE PLACE GOOD AND BE CAREFUL ALL NIGHT LONG FOR NOTHING BAD TO HAPPEN, TO HELP ALL TOGETHER THE FIGHTS OR THE DESTRUCTIONS TO STOP LIKE THE PARTY HAPPENING IN THEIR OWN HOUSE…WE WANT TO SEE PURE LOVE, EROTIC COUPLES MAKING LOVE OPENLY, NAKED PEOPLE FEEL FREE TO DANCE WITH EVERYBODY, CRAZY HAPPY GIRLS AND BOYS HAVING THE BEST NIGHT OF THEIR LIFE…WE WANT TO SEE A COLLECTIVE AMAZING SPACE-OUT EXPERIENCE TO HAPPEN FROM ALL TO ALL!.WE WANT TO BE TRANSFORMED THROUGH THIS PARTIES …AND WE WANT TO CHANGE FOR GOOD!

WE WANT TO SEE PEOPLE USING ALL PSYCHEDELIC SUBSTANCES OR ALCOHOL WITH GREAT CARE AND GREAT RESPECT TO THEIR SELF AND TO THE OTHERS, WE DON’T LIKE DRUG DEALERS AND DRUG BUSINESS, WE DON’T LIKE MACHO MAFIA ATTITUDE, WE DON’T LIKE DRUG CULTURE, WE DON’T LIKE FREAK OUT MANIACS, WE DON’T LIKE DRUNK PEOPLE FIGHTS, THIEVES AND PARANOIA, WE DON’T LIKE COCAINE, WE DON’T LIKE HEROIN!
WE WANT TO SEE ALL PEOPLE PARTICIPATE AND HELP FOR ALL THESE TO NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN! and the only way for this to never happen again it is not fights and misery…IS YOUR HELP, GOOD HEART HAPPINESS, PURE LOVE, OPEN AWARENESS AND COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS!
THESE FOR NOW….AS FOR THOSE THEY SAY THAT THE FREE PARTIES IN THE UNIVERSITIES OF GREECE WILL END SOON THEY HAVE TO KNOW THAT FOR THE LAST 18 YEARS WE FIGHT WITH ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT THEY WANT TO FIGHT TOGETHER IN OUR SIDE….AND WE ARE WINNING!
WE FIGHT FOR “OPEN PUBLIC UNIVERSITY ASYLUM FOR ALL PEOPLE”, FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, DEMONSTRATION AND ENTHOUSIASTIC FESTIVITY, FREEDOM OF OPEN PUBLIC CROWD ASSEMBLY, FREEDOM OF PUBLIC SPACE!… FREEDOM FOR PUBLIC, SOCIAL, POLITICAL AND ARTISTIC EVENTS, FREEDOM FOR DIFFERENCE, FOR MINORITY, FOR EXTREME CULTURES, FREEDOM FOR ALL OF US THE CRAZY, THE ROMANTICS,THE MANIC DEPRESSIVES, THE OUTOPIANS, THE LIBERTARIANS, THE AUTONOMISTS, THE ANARCHISTS, THE PSYCHEDELIC FREAKS, THE MUTANTS, THE CAYS AND LESBIANS, THE LOVERS,THE STREET BEGGARS, THE FREE CAMPERS, THE REFUGES, THE IMMIGRANTS, THE SPACE-OUT TRAVELERS, THE WANDERERS, THE EXPLORERS OF THE UNKNOWN FUTURE!

bravo void network ! dats why i love u guys!
from all theze yearz i ve been around
you are the only movement psychedelic and not only,
that really fights for our rights ! for our freedom ! freedom of air ! freedom of space ! of speach! and of parties!
and the point about respecting the place and keep it clean is a real good one! not only clean but better FOR EVERYBODY not to get it so dirty. last party we had boxes for thrash around but no one driped his empty beer in one of them!
at last people must learn ( and only lately i learned that too) that when the party finishes, some stay to clean up the mess, so we wont have policy arguments for any balagans! not mention the fights, that shudnt exist in a PARTY on the first place.

love peace and unity!! full respect to you guys! you certainly where(and are) the ones to show alot of us what underground is all about. clubbers, clubbing and clubs is one thing and the underground scene is another. to be honest I don't see any culture in the clubs but yes have had quite a few good nights in them. I hope this post awakens the true spirit in all of us that don't want the real underground scene to die and wish for bigger and better free underground parties! full support as always! |
