There are many great producers and DJs in Japan.
Here are some I know of...
**Producers**
I.B.I.S - young full-on producer, did some stuff with Tsuyoshi recently? new album coming soon.

Theoreme - 3D Vision / Arcadia, hard trance. Many trax released this year?

Slum - full-on psy, energetic stage performance

Tri-Force - new album out in September on Elf, started at the Manas Party years ago

Saikariom - plays live "metal guitar" to last couple of songs during his live set.

Uscus - progressive psy from Anoyo organization

Omb - also progressive psy from Anoyo

Hydro Generator - psytrance producer, just released a nice album "Lucid Dream"

Bug Funk - underground dark psy outfit

Uni - Drummer and Keyboard, last album "La Movin" original style.

K.U.R.O - psyristor, nice live performer

Kotaro - old pro, nice live

Drap Drop - original style psy.

Clutch - progressive from Trance Cafe.

Gokufuto - minimalist hardcore ala x-dream, madness

Asteca - twisted psychedelia, breaking new ground.

**DJs**
Batta - old to new style Goa, always delivers.
Shed - Apoxina Records underground dark psy master
Kemix - intelligent full-on madness!
DJ So - smooth progressive house music
DJ Sal - Stargate progressive??
Ryo - eclectic full-on from Solstice
Ami - Vision Quest
Nori - Arcadia
Supernova - Anoyo
Ta-ka - Mother?
Masa & Ree K - Space gathering

+ many more artists I cant think of at the moment.

Seems to me though Japanese artists are not appreciated or supported enough. Most of these guys can blow a lot of the internationals away. A group of 11 Japanese artists will play the Earthcore festival in Australia this year. I hope more foreign organizers and labels get interested in Japanese artists and bring them out.

hi hikari, i don't want to be rude, but i don't think it has anything to do with language. i just haven't heard very much that is interesting or original come out of the japanese trance scene. if there were trance artists in japan as good as the ones i book from germany or sweden or england, i would book them. but unfortunately after tsuyoshi left the trance scene, i don't see much talent here. there are some amazing japanese producers in others genres of electronic music, but not in trance.

but there is one upcoming japanse producer in the progressive house scene that i like a lot: OMB. he's starting to get some attention from international club dj's who play more serious sounds.

yeah russ...i dont know if i wrong...but maybe you are wrong in your words!
here in japan are a lot nice psychedelic trance producers!u say here in japan are not producers of trance!...this are verry wrong!
have u hearing my tracks?have you hearing
tonios music?have you hearing hydrogenaretor?
etc...they are made nice psychedelic stuff!full on and progressive!i think who is out of the trance maybe is you no?i like progressive house...but remember thats not are trance!hehe

Well this is all just opinion and taste isnt it.

I've seen OMB and he was ok but I agree with Mad Factory, there are a lot of nice Trance producers in Japan. The quality of releases are getting better and better. Many International labels are now really interested in Japanese Trance Artists.           The music was like new black polished chrome

Hi There,
Check on these few psychos for heavy psy-trance:

Galaxy Madness
Atrocious Berserker
He he he these are truelly never been released yet... but soon to be so hurry !

I'm sure there is many more, but for true psychedellic trance that will make you dance and flip your brain into a great journey, these few are among the best I have the chance to know.
For Allready released one, but still really underground and psychedellic, also check:
Savage Scream
Noise Gust
Bug Funk
Yassagure Panakota (Very funny & interesting project)

Take Care.

Emmanuel

i though mad factory was brazilian not japanese heheh
and it is ironic that there arent more psy producers coming from japan since all the technology is there, but sometimes too much technology ruins the feeling.. for examples brazil is not a rich country but they allready hv a lot of artists and good ones IMO           looking after mother earth sound..
