January 20 2007
at CoSM's Entheocentric Salon
28thday presents PsyBooty
M-Field Record Release Party

in CoSMosis from 10PM to 5AM, featuring

M-FIELD LIVE (PsyBooty Records | D-Space Studios, USA)

The "M-Field" project began with the chance meeting of two like-minded individuals, Jay (aka Indigom / Alpha Channel) and Rob (aka Rob-ot), at a loft party in Boston, Massachusetts in early 2004. As it turns out, they both lived within 2 miles of each other in New Haven, Connecticut - Jay working as a computer programmer and Rob finishing a Masters in classical guitar performance at the Yale University School of Music. A week later Rob dropped by D-Space Studios, Jay’s studio space, and very quickly a track was born. "Focus" was a song born out of pure inspiration, which dropped jaws on DJs and dance floors from New York to Boston, and eventually ended up in the hands of PsyBooty Records. "Focus" was granted a slot on PsyBooty's second compilation, "Serve ‘Em Twice." Jay and Rob realized that they worked very well together, and moments thereafter, "M-Field" was born.

"Current Of Life," the debut album from M-Field, is set for release on January 19, 2007! The album marks the first full-length artist album to be released on PsyBooty, and truly sets a new bar for progressive psytrance in America and around the world. "Current Of Life" is already receiving positive feedback from world renowned DJs and artists, as well as positive reviews in magazines.

D-SPACE LIVE (Jay Indigom {Alpha Channel, M-Field} and Steve Equisol; PsyBooty Records | Soul Trance Records)

Jay and Steve will be weaving together their most immersive tracks live from the latest grip of singles and forthcoming album material. Come on out to dance while D-Space connects the dots in the multi-dimensional geometry of the groove.

PEDRO (Reality Engine | Interchill Records | CoSM, NYC)
Originally from Brazil, Pedro plays and produces free style tribal grooves, with dub beats into midtempo trance, breaks and house. He fuses influences from many tribal cultures and genres to build an uplifting experience.

PSYLAB
Psylab was conceived in early 2005 with a mission to introduce a full human element into electronic dance music, where everything is created entirely in real-time by 4 musicians. Psylab's primary focus is on psy-trance styles, however they are also known to perform full sets of drum'n'bass, house, dubstep and downtempo. Psylab has been teaming up with skilled DJs and electronic bands, performing at regional weeklies, private parties, and underground events. Psylab features veteran drummer Steven Asaro on the Roland v-drums, Joe Giglio on bass guitars, Ed Guild on visuals & samples, and Neil Larson on synthesizers.

GOddamn, this party was awesome... special thanx to Jaemon, who I had no idea was going to be doing deco, and Nick Binary, whose assistance setting up the chapel, recording novatron's set was invaluable, and helping us keep the main room running when Tony was out of the building, was invaluable. And of course the psybooty guys... both the live sets and the dj set from rob were totally awesome... the main room was packed and going crazy pretty much the whole night. First time we've ever had to close the door to control crowd levels.

thats so friggin great to hear of such a great response for home grown artists. M-field is a great new addition and point of pride for the american scene, and Rob is a fantastic dj.

Glad to hear this party exceded expectations. Bigs ups to 28th day for their continued recognition, and promotion of the US's top psy slingers.

huge, overwhelming crowd, a mix of trancers (very few), ravers, coke-heads and plain strangers from the street....

angry bouncers keeping people freezing outside....

a group of kids spewing obsenities and throwing up in the bathroom of the chapel of SACRED mirrors.

Profanity...

I wonder what Alex Grey made of this hoi polloi invasion, he seemed busy painting....

Time to scale back and bring back the vibe, guys!

...compared to the previous Salons, where the "scaled back" crowd of low-energy psychedelic elites disinterested him so greatly that he could barely endure the public painting for two hours before retreating into an inner sanctum for the remainder of the evening, presumably to sleep and forget as quickly as possible.

Now if Alex and Allyson Grey both reacted as if Saturday night was one of the best events they've had in their sacred space, perhaps your perceptual filter needs a re-examination? The tubes may be clogged.

Yeah, seriously... and angry bouncers keeping people waiting outside? Well, there IS a limit to how many people cosm can hold... if we had let more people in the "huge, overwhelming crowd" would have been much more so. I found the dance floor at this event to have been one of the most enthusiastic and high-energy I've ever seen ANYWHERE, and that includes other psyevents. Unfortunately (=)), people seem to really like this series... how would you suggest we scale back? Keep more people waiting outside?

It was a hell of a party though. M-Field rocked socks.
Too bad about the skeevy people.
