from the general lurkers of the forum, I know me and lucidpicnic are from turkey, dont know others(I am in canada right now though).
Anyways, I can say that the turkish psychedelic community is gathering more often. People have started meeting each other and there are some shows where big acts from israel is invited for ex: infected mushroom, astral projection, astrix. also some others like analog pussy, mr hanky and talamasca. Other than that somewhat underground outdoor gatherings on a grassroot level is being organized and I hear they are going on very nicely. Its very new and developing. Major cities are Istanbul and Ankara but in the summer you will find outdoor gatherings in all sortsa places.           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

Turkey is one of these places where trance is still Fresh and new,and the vibes i got while playing in istanbul, were like the ones in israel - 10 years ago...
which is a good thing btw

There are not many promoters around,in fact i know of only one who makes Parties on a regular basis, and he is HAKAN from ankara.
It must be said the man is doing a noteable job by promoting this new and not-so-profitable-at-the-moment scene.

and i also might add turkey can be quite a good home for outdoor parties and festivals,it has some killer resort locations which can be a perfect place for festivities.

i dont know about 'psytrance' but the ancient Islamic genre of music called 'Sufi Music' actually originatde from Turkey.
the instruments they have which are used in classical turkish music is highly psychedelic.           ~*** You can tell By the way i use my walk, Im a woman's man, No time to Talk***~

I tought that Sufi qawwali originated in Afganistan or pakistan.

It didnt orginate there, tho its been there in afghanistan and pakistan for years!!
But the instruments were discovered in turkey and due to the many turkish rulers the Indian subontinenets had..its safe to say that it started out in Turkey !

Few hunderts of years ago there was a movement called "Dervish" or "Dervism" in Turkey, and it was very simmilar in conception with the modern psychedelic movement. You can say it was an ancient form of psychedelic culture. Too bad that it was lost in time.
Maybe it must be bringt back. We can learn a lot of thing from it.
Sorry for my english !
