Wasn't that bad since I had less votes to count. LoL
But I agree. It's sad to see the forum desert like this...

The problem is that many of us listen to very few psytrance these days. I will listen more this year, I promise           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

Is it just the forum... or is it psytrance culture that is fading into obscurity?

Release wise 2011 was a weak year imo. Seems to me like its getting harder and harder to keep the old geezers interested (not that many "psychedelic trance" releases have been able to excite me this year either), while less and less new timers are joining the "force". But who knows, it might be the usual "its not what it used to be" syndrome.

I blame it on SOPA
ACTA too

edit: It really feels like a joke though ... i mean ... winners with 3 votes count .. ? What the hell. That's not right. A poll like that cannot reflect the isratrance community's opinion. If it was up to me i would cancel it.           Peace, Love, Death metal

sorry did't vote, not so much time lately ... but i don't think that this forum represents the global psytrance movement. it's a bit outdated, maybe some refreshing would not be bad ....           to use your head you have to go out of your mind

I don't see why.
I understand few user users voted. Nevertheless, it's their opinion and it should be published.

Maybe you should have given yours too...

I actually think 2011 was a great year for the psy-trance (chill-out included) in terms of releases...but as it was pointed out in other occasions the forum is full of people who no longer care for psy-trance....

Congratulations to all the artists who did a great job in 2011!

Congrats for John and the others involved in making the poll.

However, I have to agree with diskonekt, this poll does not reflect the community. I won't go thru the statistics, but due to the small sample size these results are not statistically significant, that means probably a lot of WINNERS are in fact NOISE in the data, normal fluctuations that always exists any sort of real world data, and that are taken here as winners due to the very small sampling nature.

In practice, if ten more users have voted the results could be different, you know what I mean...

Too bad I didn't do this:

^ hahaha

I agree with ellon. 2011 was a good year of releases. facebook and other medium have left the forums in the desert, No ONE wants to Discuss music they just want to have a good time. its nothing to do with psy-trance.. if it's alive and kicking in every other genre of music then people will go for it, but maybe people have less time to be on the internet and post on forums. Which i understand. But to put the whole whole thing in a word bracket is unfair.            “What we need is the development of the Inner Spiritual man, the unique individual, whose treasure is hidden in the symbols of our mythological tradition and in man’s unconscious psych.” - CJ Jung
