Indeed indeed, so why are people only describing as "killer" instead of "this track brings me joy with the terrific bassline pointed out right at my spot tickling me with some cute little fluffy melodies"

lol that sounded like something else but anyway compare:

"this track brings me joy with the terrific bassline pointed out right at my spot tickling me with some cute little fluffy melodies"

with:

"KILLERR WOWOWOWO WEEE WOOO KILLER kiiiiillllllllllllllleeeeeeeerrrrrr "

which one would u most likely enjoy more than the other to read?

A, although you have good intentions, i think youre asking something that some people are not up to. since english is not the native tongue of most users of this forum, any communication is really a good thing on their behalf and might be a trying effort. think about that.

also, our good man apocalypse has done half the adjective work for you already my man:

You stranger: music. You heart-space
grown out of us. The deepest space in us,
which, rising above us, forces its way out,--
holy departure:
when the innermost point in us stands

boundless,
no longer habitable.

Thanx for that Dimitry!!!

Very good thread Andres.

I've been writing reviews for years and always try to find new words.

It is of course understandable that some people here don't speak very good English, and so it is harder for them. It is also understandable that not everyone likes to write or has the nack for it.

For me it's fun writing a review. GuyShanti and myself used to sit and listen to CDs and try to find words (and sometimes invent them) to describe the different sounds and atmosphere that we heard in the music. Not very easy in psytrance... But fun:-)           ---------------------------------------------

Yeah but even if you dont write or speak English very good I'll bet my old hat that everyone know how to write the word "good" or "nice" ect.

KIIILLLAAAAARRRRR has become a fashionable word like Boom and is way overused in this forum.

sorry...i think many people do feel that the track or the CD is a KKKKKKIIIILLLLEEEEERRRRRR
and just want to express there liking of it with out getting to deep or with out knowing how to.
Elysium IMO if every review has all these superlatives and then an artist gets a..."nice" or "good" it would feel kinda poor...
cheers.           "....or is it???"

yeah it does seem a little strange that in a scene that stands for peace, love, happiness etc, the word "killer" comes up so often...

The word "killer" for a track or album, comes up so often that the word itself became boring.
If somebody describes a track - killer - I quickly loose interest and move on to other reviews.

which is fine, as that brings me to my second point: i think people want to read something fast. i think they dont want to spend the time reading a lot, esp. if english is difficult...

i see that too. sad. at most in a review. maybe they only read til the word killer appears for the first and then stop and go buy the cd because its a killer. maybe they even only hear killer elements in tracks....maybe they skip unkilling parts....wind knows.           Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!
