It seems that all that goa psy style we´d lived once is gone. Producers r makin´ more n more Dark trax than ever, n everything its much more serious than wat it used to be. Is this a reflex of the time we are living (wichs very dif from GOA 20 years ago) or the music is changin us? Society´s changing the way of ppl makin music or the music is changin the psytrance scene n attitude? |

Dark music is of all times. If you haven't noticed this you should take note of other styles of music as well. (techno, IDM, extreme metal styles like doom metal, black metal, death metal) etc. Psytrance still has a pretty good balance between dark & light as far as I'm concerned. So maybe there's a lot of dark music nowadays, well, there's light music as well isn't there? I shouldn't be too worried if I were you.

I haven´t posted here for quite a wille now and I recall having discussins like this about one year ago and I don´t recall who said it but I agree 1000% - "Todays dark is just the same as yeasterdays goa". So if you do feel it is getting to "dark", please check the old stuff and you will find even "darker" tracks...

Depends where u from dark havent being the same as always. But u guys probably have lived everywhere, isnt? Anywayz,wat we see nowdays is yesterdays psy producers gettin more n more into Dark. More serious bass lines, dark synth´s, noises and even samples.
Wat i think is great by the way...im too old to that fluff chesse glittering green that glows in the dark joke psy of yesyerday.TNX GOD the music isnt for children anymore!!!So ill ask again...Is this a reflex of the time wer livin or the music is making the scene diferent? Is it so hard to explain withou being sooo personnal? |

So u see how is it different for eachother?! Dennis thinks inspiration comes from wat he lives, Phobium probably makes music to live a different reality from wat he sees. Now we get to the point. It is wat u see, that takes you to a direction to make music or the direction music is takin changes the way ppl r now in the Psytrance scene? The world is changin´ppls mind to a more serious and darkest way to see things, or the simple music evolution´s is leading ppl to be different as they use to??? Hehehe this could be named "The Dark Paradhox"...Wat comes first??? |

It's right in the middle. No kidding.. The middle = commercializing ect. The end is eighter the death (see regular trance like PVD, Tiesto ect) Or it might be the beginning of the end. Where the psy will go further down the underground world. But my guess is that it will take a while. The glory days are over. It might just come back again, but since psy is getting more and more POPular, this, as said, might take a while.
