I read yestarday this article that said trance in general and psytrance in particular make you crazy, and the article ends saying that only disturbed people listen to this kind of music.
You guys think that true? |

I should write an article about how brit-pop makes ppl crazy - because it sure does make me go crazy when I hear it.

I think nothing makes people crazy, but some thing can trigger "crazyness". It always depends on the person, not the music/TV show/movie. |

What the hell?? Are those people full of it or what?? So just because I listen psytrance I'm supposed to be some crazy dude?? Anyway, I think that crazy people listen to all kinds of music, just like normal people. A crazy person could easily be listening Radiohead, or Dimmu Borgir for example. So it's not about the music and these people that made the article sure haven't done their research!!

where is the article? and by whom? I want to heckle them and challenge this uniformed ignorant view!!!! (in the nicest way possible of course)!!
by the way no course not it's for people who like to push the boundarys of sound and noise while following an ancient tradition of dancing themselves into a trance to reach certain states of being....
to someone who likes things 'normal' in their life and has routine and wears grey (apoligies to anyone who likes grey though) who dismisses anything unusuel as 'nonsence' yes we probably seem very mad and crazy...but someone like that who commits their whole life to something like with no real meaning, well..to us they are mad! |

Ok, seriously... I think that that article might have some truth to it (most of it is probably bullshit, though). Mostly because of drugs. Let's face it - drug use (and therefore drug abuse as well) is common in our genre. I'm not saying drugs are bad in general but they are bad for some people. I don't know if drugs make people crazy but at least I can see they cause depression. Or why is it that so many psytrance fans I know suffer from depression? Just a coincidence? God knows.
Ok ok... I know I went off-topic. Being crazy has nothing to do with depression but perhaps that article was about problems caused by drugs. |
